Divisions edit
Can we add a Division parameter, so that the title appears as {{{Year}}} NCAA {{{Division}}} Baseball Tournament? Billcasey905 (talk) 00:30, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- I tried to mirror Template:Infobox college basketball tournament, which is just a Division I box rather than having a Division parameter. There doesn't appear to be an infobox on the Division II basketball tournament pages. Is your intent to create Division II (or III) baseball tournament pages and use the infobox? - It's more because from 1947 to 1956, there were no divisions and from 1957 to 1973 the top level of competition was called the University Division. Referring to tournaments in those years as Division I is incorrect. Billcasey905 (talk) 10:29, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I'm fine with that change. The only problem I foresee (if the infobox is subsequently used on the DII or DIII tournament) is that it's currently set up to link the year to that year's Division I baseball season article. I don't know how to code it so that the Division parameter will only direct you to that article if it's Division I.
- I'd bet someone in College Football has made that work. If and when it becomes an issue, we can probably try to borrow from them. For now I'm more concerned with the title at the top of the page and the next/prev links. We might be able to use {{College baseball seasons category header/Name conv}} that I lifted from college football for the season category header to make the titles work. MOP/MOPTeam entries edit
Entries in the MOP and MOPTeam lines aren't showing up on pages where this template is used and that information is provided (e.g. 2018 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament). I made a fix that looked like it made the parameters appear, but Muboshgu reverted it, saying my change didn't work as I intended--quite possible as I am not an expert at these kinds of templates! Does anyone else know how to fix the template to make the these entries appear? -- Esprqii (talk) 17:44, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
