The Brazilian article dedicated to the soap-opera is being redirected to here, but this article is about the movie. 201.29.217.83 16:11, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Movie date should be 1983 +-1

I know I saw Xica in a theater in the U.S.A. in 1983, give or take a year. I forget what language the film was in, but it had English subtitles. The plot as described in the article seems to be what I remember, or is quite close.

The movie was probably in Portuguese. Although the overall arc of the plot of the telenovela (dubbed in Spanish from Portuguese) follows the one described in this article (which probably describes the film), it diverged from it quite a bit. For example, the telenovela followed not only the fortunes of Xica, but those of her friends and foes and other interested parties. Some of the stories involved witches, vampires, zombies, and amorous priests. For example, there is a witch who is turned into a goat and later, there's a possibly demonic (or maybe angelic) white kitten of super-feline strength who protects a little girl. I cannot recall if the kitten had a previous incarnation as a witch or not.

The image showcases a timeline featuring three companies, highlighting their original logos alongside their current logos.

1. **BMW** - Founded in 1913, it has transitioned from the "RAPP MOTOR" logo to its well-known current logo. 2. **Apple** - Established in 1976, it started with the "Apple Computer Co." logo and has since adopted the modern, minimalist Apple logo. 3. **Netflix** - Founded in 1997, it began with a "NetFlix" logo that featured a swirling design and has evolved to the updated, bold "NETFLIX" text logo.

The background of the image features a slightly cloudy sky and a grid-like structure, contributing a modern and expansive feel to the overall presentation. 103.25.248.239 (talk) 10:23, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
