Merge with spinning coasters article

edit

I'm opposed to the proposed merge with the spinning roller coaster article. See my comments at Talk:Spinning_roller_coaster. Dan

I agree. An merger seems unnecessary because X is a Six Flags Magic Mountain roller coaster, not a roller coaster type. Jonyyeh 01:53, 22 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oppose as per Jonyyeh. Every coaster should have its own article, and every type of coaster should have its own article. The fact that this is the first coaster of its type does not mean that this type of coaster shouldn't get its own article. A second coaster of this type is being built in Japan, anyway. The position of the on ride photo isn't mentioned

Why does the infobox on the side say 2 inversions while the article says there's six?70.81.249.110 19:10, 12 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

The track inverts twice; the seats invert six times. RCDB counts track inversions only. Timetrial3141592 01:28, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Height vs. Drop

edit

How can the first drop be deeper than the height of the whole thing? Are there underground sections of the ride? Or might that be an error in the data table?--SiriusB 15:11, 2 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Height is a very ambiguous term when related to roller coasters, however in this context height is the largest vertical distance from the ground to the track. As you can see here, the track continues below the level of the supports for the lift - so I would presume the difference between the figures comes from this, however that clearly isn't a 40ft difference. It doesn't help that we blindly copy information across from rcdb, but it's the most reliable source we have. Seaserpent85 15:51, 2 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nomenclature

edit

The name of the coaster should be constistent with the name the park uses.Revcpa (talk) 21:05, 21 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

X² (roller coaster)X2 – The article name should be consistent with park nomenclature. See official website: http://www.sixflags.com/magicMountain/footernav/SiteMap.aspx Revcpa (talk) 07:14, 26 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

X2 is the first 4th Dimension coaster.

edit

X2 is actually the first 4th dimension rollercoaster opened in 2002. The next 4D coaster was Eejanaika opened in 2006[1]. The article states X2 was the second, but it did not follow events, as renovation started in 2007, not "opening". XaRcRR22W232k (talk) 03:08, 20 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes, you are correct. As you can see from these edits, a random IP editor changed it from first to second without explaining why. I reverted the edits, thanks. --GoneIn60 (talk) 03:31, 20 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
