@DollysOnMyMind tell me what is wrong about those content you're removing before editing it out. I deserve an explanation per Wikipedia's guidelines. Yotrages (talk) 1:05, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
I'm not a hugely established editor, but I am 100% sure that if you cannot understand that a statement like “Wizkid is regarded as an African living legend” is not appropriate for Wikipedia per WP:NPOV, then I warmly suggest you to open your own blog named "ILoveWizkid.com" and quit Wikipedia because you are really not ready to edit here DollysOnMyMind (talk) 12:42, 7 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
@DollysOnMyMind Oh! you're talking about that, you've already removed that and I didn't add it back, cuz I got your point. Wizkid isn't my favorite artist, so I don't need that blog. you can edit out content like that, but stop removing good ones like Billboard's. And please remember to tag me next time you reply. Yotrages (talk) 14:39, 7 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Yotrages, there is definitely a problem with your edits changing quotes.Source is quoted to say "is the first African artist to truly make a major pop breakthrough in the United States and seems best poised to do so globally, too” You changed the quote to "Wizkid is the first African artist to truly make a major pop breakthrough in the "United States" and globally, and his rise has paralleled the Western-based music industry’s entry to the continent". which is not in the source.Source is quoted to say "The Afrobeats pioneer’s fusion of traditional rhythms, slick R&B production and a smattering of pop-ready lyrics, sung in a mix of Yoruba and English, have helped to commercialise the genre across the West, making it one of the industry’s most profitable – and brilliant – imports. ". You changed the quote to "Wizkid has enjoyed an unprecedented mainstream success for an African artist and has dominated the global music scene in recent years, heralding a new age of music influenced by the continent’s vivid sights and sounds". Only part of that "quote" is actually a quote from the article.Source is quoted to say "undeniably one of the reasons for the genre’s mainstream appeal". You changed it to "he is a pioneer, who is the reason for the genre's mainstream appeal" That is not a direct quote, that's cherry-picking sentence fragments to form your own sentence. Nowhere in that source does it say he is the reason for the genre's mainsteam appeal. You added this source, and quoted "his chart success and euphoric production-heavy show have inspired a whole generation of African artist" What the source actually says: " If his chart success hadn’t already inspired the next generation, this euphoric, production-heavy show definitely would have. You cannot fake direct quotes. Schazjmd(talk)18:48, 7 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Schazjmd if that was the problem, it can be re-worded or trimmed. I was just rephrasing the words, that doesn't justify DollysOnMyMind deleting almost everything. He's also operating based on his agenda not per WP:NPOV, if the word was changed I wouldn't have a problem, but deleting everything, I have problem with that. Yotrages (message) 4:13, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
@Yotrages:, you cannot rephrase direct quotes. A direct quote is verbatim. And when you make an edit with a lot of changes and many of them are false direct quotes, it is not reasonable to expect other editors to manually restore the correct quotes. Schazjmd(talk)14:13, 8 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
By the way. I restored most of the correct quotes, I exclusively removed redundant informations: the section was too lengthy. @Yotrages: you trying this odd revenge against me is explanatory of what kind of user you are. I'm absolutely not expecting an improvement in your edits considering your unapologetic and arrogant behavior. I give you my word, I will continue to check on this. DollysOnMyMind (talk) 15:42, 8 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
@DollysOnMyMind Did you realized, you're verbally attacking me, saying "I won't improve", you really went far! far!!!!!!!. Stop stalking me, unless you're in love with me. Yotrages (talk) 18:56, 8 February 2024

@DollysOnMyMind Is only have problem with you deleting those reliably sourced contents. if the qoutes are altered or doesn't fit your taste, you can change the wordings. But why delete good faith edits, when the contents are true and haven't been talked about yet. I really want us to reach agreement cuz I'm fed up with this, i have many other things to do. so instead of deleting the contents, we can just re-wrote the section. Thanks. Yotrages (talk) 4:40, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
Yotrages, how many time are we going to put in the same damn section the same information about him exporting Afrobeats??? If the information is repeated 100000 times it becomes redundant and needs to be trimmedDollysOnMyMind (talk) 08:26, 8 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

@DollysOnMyMind: I have reverted your edits to the article per the comments I left on your page. You undid my edit to the page and claimed that R&B isn't listed in the article. I refuted your claims and told you that the article specficially mentions R&B as one of two primary genres on the Made in Lagos album. You do not have any valid reason to undo my edit and remove the additional genres I added. If you undo my edit again, I will report you. Find something else to do on here man. There are tons of South African-related articles that need to be improve. Versace1608Wanna Talk?22:10, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
No no no Versace. I did not "undid [your] edit to the page [claiming] that R&B isn't listed in the article" - I undid your edit because it lists R&B as a genre for the album, not for the artist as a whole. As mentioned in WP: EXPLICITGENRE, "when classifying music, sources must explicitly attribute the genre to the work or artist as a whole", your source does not attribute the genre to the artist as a whole DollysOnMyMind (talk) 22:31, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
