Degree lists (Miscellaneous lists)

I removed 3 tables of degree programs Wingate offers. I see no reason to list this, as many are not notable programs. Here are the tables i removed: -TinGrin 05:33, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Man put it back, it's way more efficient to have that here. You even removed the graduate one!!

Proposed merge with Wingate University School of Pharmacy

not independently notable DGG ( talk ) 23:27, 4 November 2017 (UTC)

Per Wikipedia:Notability a topic is notable if it, "has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." One could argue what "significant coverage" coverage means, but I have much more content to add to this article. Specifically, a fair amount of content will be referenced from these three pages:
http://schoolpages.pharmcas.org/publishedsurvey/502
http://gohendersoncountync.org/2013/09/04/wingate-university-school-of-pharmacy-hendersonville-open-house/
http://www.blueridge.edu/academics/transfer-pathway-wingate-university-school-pharmacy
Further, I would contend that the statement from Wikipedia:College_and_university_article_advice#Notability which reads, "all colleges and universities are de facto notable" is an argument for the School of Pharmacy to have its own article. The School of Pharmacy (SOP), after all, is a college of its own accord, umbrellaed under a University. I realize the flip side of this argument, and I don't contend that it doesn't have merit, but I still contend the SOP stands on its own.
Also, some of the information that is yet to be included in this article is very important to the prospective pharmacy student, who would most view this article, but this information really wouldn't be fitting in overall article of the entire university (Things such as is the PCAT required, is there a seat deposit, is a BS required, etc). Also, as the Wingate SOP just seated it's first class in 2003, it is still relatively a new school. This means a lot more information is to come that is specific to the SOP and having this article merged with the main university's article would discourage the inclusion of such information.
Finally, from Articles_for_deletion/Common_outcomes, "Most independently accredited degree-awarding institutions [...] have historically been kept". The SOP is an institution on its own, and it is accredited by two boards of accreditation (ACPE & SACSCOC). I realize we're discussing a merge as opposed to a deletion, but I think the same criteria should be applied. If accredited and noted by several outside sources, how can it not be notable on its own?

Support merge. GregMo72 valiantly applies university arguments to a school within a University; however, the school isn't the degree-awarding body, the University is. The regulator accredit the university, and the university manages the delivery through the school. Other important schools of pharmacy don't have separate pages; for example, see List of pharmacy schools. The vast majority don't have separate pages because they can't sustain independent notability; lots of great Pharmacy schools don't have a separate one. Regarding provision of information about the school: that is what the school's own website (or prospectus) is for, and not the role of encyclopaedia. Klbrain (talk) 12:10, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
