Substantial overhaul

edit

I have substantially restructured this DAB. I believe it is now earlier to read and find entries. The headings have been alphabetized, entries are more consistently ordered by date of birth, some entries with confusing wording have been revised, a missing entry was added, the miscellaneous ("Other") section has been substantially reduced by finding appropriate homes for most of its entries, some freestanding sections have been combined (as subheadings) with related sections. Finally, because of the unusually large size of the page , I have moved the TOC to its normal space instead of on the right. It needs to be noticeable, so t he visitor doesn't miss it and end up having to scroll through the page needlessly.

I would also like to propose that there is no primary topic. The purpose of a primary topic is to identify the likely target among similarly named subjects, more likely than all the other topics combined to be the intent of an ambiguous search term. That's certainly not true here. It may not even be much more likely than, or even as likely as, some of the other topics. The textile designer (current primary) is probably no better known than, say, the founder of the William Morris group of agencies, or William "Speedy" Morris, the famous basketball coach.

For the purposes of DAB, let's move the current primary topic to be a standard entry. That may also mean that we need to discuss making the DAB the primary topic and the current William Morris article renamed to William Morris (textile designer). I intend no offence to the members of the William Morris Society, who do important work in informing the world of his importance, neither in my proposal to change the status of his article, nor in the reductionism that article titling necessitates.
