William Barr has given significant contributions to the history of exploration of the Arctic, so that I find it relevant to include him at the Wikipedia. I see that the article itself is somewhat limited, but hope to add more to make it a qualified biography. I therefore ask for this article to be kept. --Eivindghoel 23:00, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Show that he has made a notable contribution then. See WP:BIO to look at notability requirements for inclusion RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 23:02, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Follow the external link to see the biography, and the fact that he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Historical Association. What more do you need? --Eivindghoel 23:23, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I do not think this article should be "speedy-deleted" ... however, the call for more information is a valid one. Please provide more information--what specifically makes this person notable and different.

A "speedy-deletion", in my opinion, might have been an over-step.--Paul McDonald 02:10, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Original speedy tag was for copy vio (see tag), this seams sorted now so I'll remove it RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 02:12, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Article should not be deleted. Many Russian Arctic explorers, icebreakers and islands in Wikipedia have references to his books. Birth date?Mohonu 19:46, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
