There is actually a color version of Humphrey's official portrait (this is NOT a colorization to my knowledge), found in the personal collection of Rufus Youngblood (the Secret Service agent who shielded Johnson during Kennedy's assassination). Given that the consensus image of Humphrey has been deleted, I think this would make a good replacement. While it might not be perfect, it is better than either a black and white photo (which would be inconsistent with the color photos of Nixon and Wallace) or just a random photo of Humphrey giving a speech. Should we hold a vote to build community consensus?

Support inclusion of the color portrait of Humphreys. If Nixon and Wallace are in color, it doesn't make sense to use a black and white photo of Humphreys where a near-identical color portrait is available. I T B F 💬 05:51, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Should we hold a vote on whether to use this image? If so I say Support. Helloguyswhatisup (talk) 15:32, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oppose If we put this photo in we might as well nixon's photo since it's color is terrible. Also only having one option does not work. Qutlooker (talk) 15:32, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oppose. The coloring on the image and make it look like one of those AI colorized images that were used before the colored images were implanted for the article. A better image should be used for Humphrey. HistorianL (talk) 20:22, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
This was used temporarily until "consensus needed" was argued

@HistorianL If you want to argue consensus, write your argument here if you are going to revert my edits without engaging in a discussion for new Humphrey image. Qutlooker (talk) 03:50, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
As I have reiterated several times, there is zero evidence that this is AI colorized. The Secret Service agent whose collection I found this photo from died in 1996 (presumably before the invention of such technology). Besides, the website has both B&W and color photos. I think you might be confusing it with File:Hubert Humphrey Portrait Colorized.jpg (which was legitimately AI colorized), however a major difference is that in the AI version the flag in the background is not colored in properly. I would use File:Hubert Humphrey Portrait Colorized.jpg. I frankly don't think it matters that it is AI. It looks real and the other pictures are pretty bad Leikstjórinn (talk) 00:00, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
There are plenty of better photos that don’t use AI that can be used. Qutlooker (talk) 02:27, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
How about this for Nixon for a change? The quality is better!

I personally support the last of these three, Humphrey 1968 headshot.jpg. It was literally the official headshot taken for his 1968 campaign, and there would be no qualms about whether it was AI coloured / had been coloured on a computer. Dhantegge (talk) 02:01, 11 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
This discussion is for a Humphrey image, not for Nixon. Also I should not that AI color photos have been ruled out via multiple discussions. Qutlooker (talk) 02:17, 11 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
