King Udayana

edit

Manjurh 13:36, 25 August 2007 (UTC) Udayana is also the name of the king of Vatsa, and the hero of the Sankrit classic Swapnavāsavadatta by the famous Sankrit dramatist Bhāsa. The story involves the King of Vatsa Udayana eloping with Vasavdatta and marrying her in the beginning, but as story progresses, things take turn and Udayana is forced to marry the daughter of a rival and powerful king. The king is not keen, but the loyal minister Yougandharayana stages a plot for the sake of the kingdom and the king, and Vasavadatta is made to seperate from Udayana. The drama has a beutiful climax with Udayana getting to know the plot and uniting with Vasavadatta after all the needs of the state are taken care of. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Manjurh (talkcontribs) 13:36, August 25, 2007 (UTC)Reply

The content above should be converted into a separate Wikipedia article Udayana (king). noychoH (talk) 22:29, 12 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal

edit

The three pages: Udayanacarya, Udayanacharya and the present one, Udayana should be merged into one page as they deal with the same Indian Nyaya philosopher, named Udayana, and called Udayanācārya or "Master Udayana". noychoH (talk) 22:29, 12 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Merged content from Udayanacarya and redirected it and talk page. I stopped short of doing the merge on Udayanacharya since I think that content will need to be integrated more thoroughly into this article and I don't feel I have the expertise to do so.
