- The result of this discussion was no merge. (non-admin closure) ~ Sandy14156 (Talk ✉️) 00:22, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
Since this route is entirely concurrent with the longer U.S. 11E for its entire length in Tennessee, this article could be viewed as essentially a duplicate of part of the 11E article. Bneu2013 (talk) 00:39, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose - No reason to merge it at this point. --WashuOtaku (talk) 04:42, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- A lack of notability and duplication are both reasons to merge, even if you don't agree with them. Horse Eye's Back (talk) 17:19, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- You will need to clarify what you mean by notability because this is a U.S. Route, that in itself is notable. This is not some side street to someone's farm, its a bit more significant. --WashuOtaku (talk) 18:51, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- U.S. routes are not inherently notable and this is not a US route, its a portion of one... The article for the route is U.S. Route 19. Horse Eye's Back (talk) 00:00, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

- Support, U.S. Route 19 in Tennessee doesn't appear to be a notable topic on its own and in its current form is entirely duplicative of this other article. Horse Eye's Back (talk) 17:19, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose Here's the thing. U.S. Route 19 doesn't end at Bluff City, TN; it actually gets split into US 19W and US 19E. US 19W and US 19E are essentially part of the same "family" of US 19. AlphaBeta135talk 21:38, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- They are part of the same family, but still different routes. They are also not concurrent with another route for their entire length in Tennessee (and don't need separate state-level articles since they only pass through two states and aren't very long in either). I'm only suggesting merging US 19, not 19E or 19W. Bneu2013 (talk) 22:56, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- Update - since Washuotaku found the AASHTO minutes that confirm that US 19 was once longer in Tennessee (something I knew but totally forgot), I'm leaning towards not merging now. Sure, we could (and should) cover this fact in the 19E and 19W, but since it is largely irrelevant to the US 11E article, I'm going to suggest that the history section be expanded to explain more about this. Bneu2013 (talk) 23:04, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose - US 11 and US 19 are distinct and separate routes on a national level, and even in Tennessee the two are fairly distinct and, counting the splits taken in Tennessee as the whole route, are completely different. If anything, US 19, US 19E, and US 19W should be merged into one article, not 19 and 11E. transgerman_ (talk) 00:25, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
Oppose - U.S. 19 and U.S. 11E are 2 entirely different roads, so U.S. 19 in Tennessee should not be merged into U.S. 11E. U.S. 19 in Tennessee might need some expansion, but these roads should not be the same article. Tw294 (talk) 16:27, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
Oppose - I don't agree with merging it as per all of the comments mentioned above. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 11:41, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
Oppose - per above. ChessEric 22:04, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
Oppose - Why merge two routes because they are concurrent with one another for just a short time? That's ridiculous. If anything US 19, US 19E and 19W should all be merged, but US 11E should not merged with US 19! -ACase0000 (talk)
