Characters
editLet's try to keep the characters to a minimum. It's not necessary to have a write up for EVERY character who's ever had a line in Toyfare, the article is not "List of Toyfare Characters" (nad we shouldn't have that article either, it's not necessary). At one point people had added so many non-notable characters as for the list to excede 50% of the article. I deleted them a while back, because it's uncalled for. The characters who're listed are those who are principal cast members, or are prime examples of a Toyfare caricature them. Elijya 02:47, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
"Changes" section
editI hate to put the kabutz on such a lengthy addition, but I don't feel it's at all necessary for this article, especially given it's relative length - nearly doubles the size of the article. Elijya 21:10, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- shrug* I think it was fine, but I think the article is fine without it. I'm pretty apathetic about it, apparently. :-) EVula 21:21, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- It was just too much for what the article is. At the very least, a list of the publication order of each installment, their titles and a brief plot description would be more appropriate to add to the article first. The level of depth for such a minute aspect of TTT's publishing history wouldn't really be appropriate to add unless the article was five times longer. Elijya 01:03, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
What to do with the article
editI reverted Wesley Dobbs changing of the article to a redirect not because I think this needs a separate article but because there are a number of solutions.
- Change to a redirect - the article is lacking sources but it also has not been tagged asking for the article to be improved.
- Leave it here - It'd be worth pursuing the improvement of the article as any sources found should prove useful.
- Merge to the main article - I suspect that if this wasn't here we'd at least need a section in the main article and any sources people can dig up would help no matter what the end result is.
For now I' tend to support trying to improve the article for the reasons given above. I will tag the need for references and see how it goes.
Note there is also List of Twisted Tofare Theater stories (spelt wrong I see!!) and something does need doing with that asap. It seems to fit WP:NOT pretty well (and a number of other things I'm sure!!). (Emperor (talk) 16:19, 21 June 2008 (UTC))
- It's a feature in a magazine. Lots of magazines have regular features, but they don't necessairly merit their own articles. There's nothing particularly notable about the feature outside of the magazine. Has the strip been discussed by secondary sources? If not, then it should just redirect to the page. WesleyDodds (talk) 04:10, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- At the very least, as is noted in the article itself, the feature is popular enough that it has been published independently. How many magazine features can claim that? Proper sourcing is not my strong suit, but at the very least the collected editions are catalogued and made for sale on Amazon.com, and the feature has been discussed on the Robot Chicken DVD.
- Wesley, why would you delete the article with no discussion or nomination for deletion? The article has been here for almost 3 years. This was not an appropriate course of action.Elijya (talk) 22:21, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
Moved page to correct name
editWhile "Twisted Toyfare Theater" might seem to be the logical (US English) name for this American comic, the British spelling (Theatre) is used - as is apparent from the image and the website. Perhaps it should also be further corrected to ToyFare Fanx (talk) 14:28, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
