Turner (disambiguation)TurnerTurner should redirect to Turner (disambiguation). While I agree that J. M. W. Turner is one of the most notable artists of history, this situation differs from cases like Picasso or Beethoven. Turner is an incredibly common name, belonging to notable figures such as Prime Ministers, award winning actors, and one of the most well-known media moguls, among hundreds of others. Additionally, google search, news, and book results do not indicate that the artist dominates in the use of the last name. Yaksar (let's chat) 20:41, 8 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • @Xezbeth: I would have to disagree with moving the surname page back to the ambiguous title as Ted Turner's companies are equally as notable, if not more notable, by just the term "Turner" than any individual with the surname, including Ted Turner himself. • Support. The results I get from Bing suggest that Turner Construction and the Turner Broadcasting System are both more likely desired destinations. Claimsworth (talk) 22:27, 8 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Support In addition to the above mentioned Ted Turner and various Turner companies, a turner is also a type of spatula that is in almost every western kitchen and that is likely to be more relevant to most people than an 18th century British painter. --Ahecht (TALK

  • Support due to the commonness of Turner as a surname and the above-mentioned notability of several other Turners, as well as some of Ted Turner's companies. Egsan Bacon (talk) 16:42, 9 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Disagree that that guy is even all that interesting and move per astonish 24.131.80.54 (talk) 23:35, 9 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Support if anything, it would be Ted Turner, not the current target. So replace with disambiguation page -- 05:17, 10 October 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.94.171.225 (talk)
