Rename?

edit

While going through and depiping links and even looking at various sources naming the network, I noticed that they almost all universally use "Tokyo MX" instead of Tokyo Metropolitan Television. So shouldn't this article be renamed to "Tokyo MX" per WP:COMMONNAME because it is the name most used by reliable sources? —Farix (t | c) 13:35, 12 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

I agree, I've never seen it referred to by its full name in any source I've used. G S Palmer (talkcontribs) 16:49, 12 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
I also support the change to Tokyo MX as per WP:COMMONNAME and WP:RS. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 13:09, 19 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Tokyo Metropolitan TelevisionTokyo MX – As per the discussion above, while the official name is "Tokyo Metropolitan Television", reliable English-language sources refer to the station as "Tokyo MX" in their routine reporting. The station itself also refers to itself as "Tokyo MX" when it runts its station IDs (as seen on its YouTube channel). Given that there is no confusion with the the name and as per WP:COMMONNAME, the article should be renamed to use the most common name that the station is known by both natively in Japan and referred to by in English sources. —Farix (t | c) 16:35, 19 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
