This is a big article, so it may take me some time to reviews:

  • Images (criterion 6):
    • File:Fath Ali Shah Flag 1.svg needs a source to prove it is an accurate recreation. Note that first version uploaded is entirely different from current version  Done I added the citation. It belongs to Pahlavi Dynasty, early 70's.--WIMYV? (talk) 00:20, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
But Fath Ali Shah was not from the Pahlavi Dynasty, right??? --Redtigerxyz Talk 02:45, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
You are right. The name of the file is incorrect. The image does not belong to Fat'h Ali Shah--WIMYV? (talk) 03:54, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I am replacing this image with more accurate image as name is incorrect per ref and the encyclopaedic accuracy will be doubted. --Redtigerxyz Talk 06:08, 28 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • Safavid Dynasty gallery: one can hardly the flag in the first imgs, also an WP:UNDUE to Mohammad-Reza Beg's campaign. Select 1 from the three, where the flag is the most visible and replace gallery with thumbs. Also positioning of Mughal banner in Safavid Dynasty gallery is improper  Done--WIMYV? (talk) 00:20, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • Give dates of the flag in the caption for all images including Mughal empire, Nadir shah etc.   Done dates added when they were available. For some pictures such as Mughal Empire the sources do not provide the exact dates.--WIMYV? (talk) 02:05, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • Mohammad-Reza Beg's campaign images' author is Gazette de France. So permission should be {{PD-art}} or PD in France.  Done--WIMYM (talk) 04:33, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • File:Battle Between Persians and Russians - State Hermitage Museum Unofficial 1242094482812.png and File:Iranian flag; painting by Alexis Soltykoff.jpg: again the flag is unclear in the depictions. I suggest removal of images  Done by the reviewer--WIMYM (talk) 04:33, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • In in one year 1886, how can Iran have 2 flags??? explain   Done One of them was reserved for state buildings and royal monuments, forts and ports, and anything related to the state and royalty. I added some explanation to the picture.--WIMYV? (talk) 02:01, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • Are 3 images of Order of Aftab needed?   Doneremoved by the reviewer--WIMYM (talk) 04:33, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • In some images like File:The Iran's national flag as specified by the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution.jpg and others in Nationalistic Interpretation gallery, source is given as "Honar o mardom, 36, p. 30", what is Honar o mardom? Book name? also give author name and publisher (if applicable). If 36 Volume then write vol. 36   Done all images are removed from the article. However, I fixed the cirations--WIMYM (talk) 04:33, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • References (3a):
    • In some references, "pages" is used, elsewhere "pp." is used. Follow any one style for pages  Done--WIMYV? (talk) 05:08, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • Ref 27: Marashi, Afshin (2008). Nationalizing Iran: Culture, Power, and the State, 1870-1940. Page nos. missing   Done--WIMYV? (talk) 15:43, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • Ref 2: H. Kindermann "Al-Asad" Encyclopedia of Islam, Vol.1, Page 681. Publisher, date missing   Done--WIMYV? (talk) 07:00, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • Ref 5: Fuat Köprülü, Daneshnameye Jahan-e Eslam (From Encyclopedia of Turk) (in Persian). Bayrak. Publisher, page nos., date missing   Done I provided a link to the source and added the publisher name. --WIMYV? (talk) 07:42, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • Ref 11: Khorasani, Manouchehr M. (2006), italics name of name. page nos. missing. If you use {{cite book}} template, you do not have to worry about formatting.  Done--WIMYV? (talk) 05:28, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • Encyclopedia Iranica links to article Fable. Link the correct article.   Done fixed--WIMYV? (talk) 04:47, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

The following suggestions were generated by a semi-automatic javascript program

  • Avoid including galleries in articles, as per Wikipedia:Galleries. Common solutions to this problem include moving the gallery to wikicommons or integrating images with the text.[?]
  • You may wish to consider adding an appropriate infobox for this article, if one exists relating to the topic of the article. [?] (Note that there might not be an applicable infobox; remember that these suggestions are not generated manually)
What about using {{Infobox Coat of arms}}. --Redtigerxyz Talk 06:17, 25 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Good idea. I will add it tonight--WIMYV? (talk) 15:59, 25 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Stable (5):  Y. --Redtigerxyz Talk 06:32, 23 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • WP:LEAD: since the lead of this article is a repetition of information also in the body, citations are not needed. e.g " became a popular symbol in Iran in the 12th century" need not cited in the lead as it is cited ahead. Please remove all such citations. Otherwise, the lead is agod summary
  • Broad in its coverage (3a)  Y --Redtigerxyz Talk 06:39, 23 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • The quotes: In some places like "The ancient connection of the sun god..... the comparison and the subsequent identification.", the quotes make no sense. A summary of a quote would be better. A summary of a quote would be better for the decrees. The article may be perceived as a {{Quotefarm}}. Please convert the quotes to text for a smooth flow in reading.   Done I converted unnecessary quotes to text.--WIMYV? (talk) 01:42, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

--Redtigerxyz Talk 06:58, 23 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

the big quotes in decree published in 1846 can be removed. --Redtigerxyz Talk 02:55, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'd rather keep that decree. This decree is the turning point of the Lion and Sun history. Most sources quoted that decree including the Encyclopedic article of Lion and Sun in Iranica.--WIMYV? (talk) 03:54, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
OK. What about references??? After you link the correct Encyclopedia Iranica link, I want to check for WP:OR on a sample basis. --Redtigerxyz Talk 04:10, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I fixed the link to Encyclopedia Iranica. Most of materials from this source were added by a user before I start completing the article. However, I checked them and I believe there is no OR--WIMYV? (talk) 04:47, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • I am also removing some more images as the article was tending to be more like an image gallery, IMO. I suggest you to remove images, finally eliminating all galleries as well as restricting images to 1 or 2 per section to avoid image crowding
  • Checked some online ref on sample basis, No OR.

Result: PASS. Congrats. Good work. --Redtigerxyz Talk 06:15, 28 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
