I can not edit this page. According to Israel's border wars Berry Morris 1949 until 1956 copy write 1993 page 328 UK temporal halted the supplied shipments of Centurian Tanks in 1955.

Orphaned references in Tanks in the Israeli Army

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Tanks in the Israeli Army's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Wrong link

Clicking on the Centurion link on the list of tanks brings you to the page for the Roman Centurion soldier rather than the Centurion Tank. The correct link should be http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centurion_tank PaleoT (talk) 14:52, 25 January 2014 (UTC)

War of Attrition, Scope, & Images

There are two very pressing issues that this article needs to address:

Firstly, the "War of Attrition" section appears to be a copypasted description of the Panhard AML in Israeli service as opposed to an overview of tank combat during that particular conflict. The AML is not a tank, but a light armoured car. I'm proposing we remove this section altogether since it's clearly out of context here. Other paragraphs relating to non-tank armoured vehicles should also be stripped, considering this is an article about tanks, unless we want to broaden the scope to include all armoured warfare history of the Israeli Army (which in turn would necessitate changing the title).

Secondly, I'm proposing as per above we remove all photographs from this article that do not depict tanks - especially considering the absolute proliferation of them. Again, it's an article about tanks; consequently, the images depicting APCs and armoured cars should be taken down. --Katangais (talk) 05:53, 12 August 2016 (UTC)

Okay, here's a summary of changes I've made to the article: blanked the War of Attrition section, which was only an irrelevant description of the Panhard AML-90 in IDF service and didn't belong on this page because 1) it falls under the scope of the Panhard AML article and isn't especially relevant to the War of Attrition in general, and 2) the AML is an armored car, not a tank; ergo, this article about tanks has no place for it.

I have also removed all the images on the article of armored cars and wheeled armored personnel carriers, which are not tanks. Some tank images were removed because they either were either duplicated in the same page or excessive. I still think certain sections are crammed with too many photographs, so I'll let the tag at the top of the article remain until another contributor fixes the existing issue or removes it. --Katangais (talk) 06:27, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

There is still a number of excessive photos on this page. This is the third time I've flagged this article for excessive use of thumbnails in the text. I've gone through and cleaned up the article, only to have photos progressively accumulate again over the next couple years. This assertion is unsourced (conjectural) as is, and if it had a reference it would likely be classified in both Israel and the US (and thus not publishable in Wikipedia).
