Takayuki KondōTakayuki Kondo – According to the naming conventions, unless another most commonly used name can be established, the roman-character names used for Japanese people should be “the form personally or professionally used by the person, if available in the English/Latin alphabet (this can include the spelling appearing on their official website or official social media profile …)”.

Her family name is written as “Kondo” without a macron on his agency’s page for him, his Ameba blog, and his official site. – Tempjrds (talk) 01:11, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Yes, dumb down. Remove helpful macron. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:45, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
    • Dumbing up or down or what's helpful to us has no relevence to this. It's simply that the current rules for this are to follow what people, their agencies and official releases prefer. In this case, they quite clearly prefer the "Kondo" spelling. I would prefer Japanese people to indicate long vowels and syllable divisions in their names, but this person does not and that's their choice to make, not mine. – Tempjrds (talk) 21:22, 23 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nomination. Unlike names of Wikipedia article subjects whose native languages, such as Croatian or Portuguese, use the Latin alphabet with diacritics and / or accents, this is a name transliterated from a non-Latin alphabet and should only be depicted with diacritics if such diacritics are part of this name's standard form. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 21:25, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nom. Seems to be the individual's preferred form of the name, and thus meets WP:JTITLE. ModernDayTrilobite (talkcontribs) 17:01, 22 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
