encyclopedia article

Can we even call this an encyclopedia article? This article should be removed until someone can create a real one.

Can anyone else confirm this is true? Regardless, I agree that this is not "encyclopedia content."

• It's not an encylopedic article it is a stub on its way to becoming an article. Any NYSE company is considered encylopedic. The article is tagged as a stub which means that anyone who has more to add should do so. Being a stub also tells the reader that this article does need more work. Article name

Isn't the correct name of the company Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide? Vegaswikian 19:06, 20 August 2005 (UTC)

Sheraton

I stayed at the sheraton hotel for 6 days during the summer of '05, and it was awesome. Each suite had 3 bedrooms, 2 tv's, 2 kitchens, and a jakuzi. They also have a big pool with waterfalls!

Breakout articles

I plan to move the Sheraton and Westin information to articles under their own names. They are no longer stubs and should no longer be an issue as their own articles. This is normal for most hotel chains. Vegaswikian 23:03, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

There should be seperate articles for each brand - aLoft, Project ESW, St Regis, The Luxury Collection, Westin, LeMeridien, Sheraton and W Hotels.. Hilton hotels has it for all of their brands, why cant Starwood? I'd do it, but i'm not quite sure how too..

Just expand the text for each brand. When they get to the size of a standalone article anyone can do the cut and past. If you know you will be adding a lot ofmaterial, do a cut and past of what is there now and then do the edits in the in new article. I'm not sure if this is the right place to consider this - but I feel like the W portion was recently enlarged with fluff material in order to begin growing it to a full article size. Linking every city over and over seems redundant, especially because the links to cities do not provide much value for understanding those properties, and linking three times to the same Atlanta article is worthless and inconsistent with New Orleans which the article only mentions once despite two hotels. I'd like some consensus on this before I change it so that each city is linked once. When I think about changing it, I start to realize none of the other Starwood brands have a list of locations within them. As much as I love the W... I feel this is inconsistent. I suggest revising the article (and the 'sheraton' one as well) to conform with content and point of view standards.

W touch?

According to the article, "For example, front desk is referred to as 'Welcome Desk', the elevators are "lifts", the Guest Service Commitment is 'Whatever/Whenever', the bathrooms are "WC's" (Water Closets), the pool is 'Wet' and the gym is 'Sweat'." How exactely does calling elevators (U.S. English) lifts (British English) fit into the W scheme? It doesn't contain the letter "W!" 75.23.132.156 (talk) 06:22, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

W Hotels under list of brands?

Why aren't W Hotels described under the list of brands? W Hotels redirects here, there's a good number of them, and even the aloft section mentions that aloft is a "little sister" of W Hotels.
