Service to end
editThe service is to be switched off on 31 January 2011 so do we need this page really? --MSalmon (talk) 17:31, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Potential source for article
editI came across this forum post which, while not suitable for inclusion itself, has a copied a story which could be cited were that original story found. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find the quoted newspaper article. NemesisAT (talk) 21:54, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
Requested move 7 July 2021
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Moved to Star Trak (service). It has been reasonably demonstrated that Star Trak Entertainment is the primary topic for "Star Trak" and that this topic only has to be properly disambiguated. (Personally, I like In ictu oculi's suggestion about Star Trak bus information system but I'll refrain from supervoting). No such user (talk) 13:00, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
Star trak real time → Star Trak – Per discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Star trak real time, where three editors supported this move. However, Star Trak currently redirects to Star Trak Entertainment, so I have declined to do a unilateral non-controversial move. User:力 (power~enwiki, π, ν) 17:22, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

Support move per WP:COMMONNAME as Star Trak is the name most frequently used in literature about the program. A Template:For hatnote on both pages should be sufficient disambiguation. Qwaiiplayer (talk) 17:48, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
- Reading the concerns put forth below, I would support moving the page to Star Trak (service) or something similar as the primary topic of Star Trak based on page views and Google search results seems to be the entertainment company with little to no mention of the bus information service. I don't think a DAB is the best solution as Star Trak Entertainment seems to clearly be the primary topic in this case. Qwaiiplayer (talk) 19:46, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
- Well, this one's easy. Support is most logical. 👨x🐱 (talk) 17:54, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
I also support, per WP:COMMONNAME.✍A.WagnerC (talk) 18:53, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
- I now think would be most appropriate a disambiguation page, after exposed by 162 etc. ✍A.WagnerC (talk) 19:22, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
- Support for basically every article title guideline—blindlynx (talk) 18:57, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose, this proposed primary topic swap is not supported by pageviews at all, as Star trak real time averages only 2 clicks a day. Star Trak Entertainment was a prominent record label which released multiple Gold and Platinum albums; it should remain the target of the primary redirect. 162 etc. (talk) 19:02, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
- I'm thinking a disambiguation page would be most appropriate. Neither stand out as a primary topic to me. NemesisAT (talk) 19:07, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
- No? Star Trak Entertainment has a 47:1 pageviews ratio, as shown above. As far as long-term notability, a company that has sold millions of records worldwide has more notability a now-obsolete tracking system that only saw use in one city. 162 etc. (talk) 20:42, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
- Important part of the comment was "to me", I haven't heard of either. Also for balance, the company is defunct. I believe this article was also an orphan before, which makes it harder to find. As I say though my comment was based on my own experience, I'm not really bothered either way. NemesisAT (talk) 20:49, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

- Delete or Very Strong Oppose as proposed due to Star Trak Entertainment. This is unremembered even by bus users in the UK county mentioned. Star Trak bus information system would be a better title if it must stay. This is so obscure and so likely to inconvenience Star Trek article seekers give it a sensible name. In ictu oculi (talk) 12:51, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
- Support move to Strak Trak (service). Current name is inappropriate. Geschichte (talk) 08:03, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
