This page has been hijacked by SK Telecoms Media and PR Division. Guilty user is "ayojeb" who systematically edited over the whole article to put a nice gloss on it.

All references to 'Sovereign Asset Management' take over attempts have been deleted. SK Chairman Chae TaeWons corruption and imprisonment have been deleted. - added newspaper links as well.

And replaced by the same milestone information as on their website.

This page even uses SK Telecoms own marketing terminology: "The Ubiquitous Age". Is this universal terminology? that 2001 to 2007 is the ubiquitous age?

Yes, Could we please have some mediation here. It seems that the SK marketing machine has set to work on wikipedia. Why has the information about Chae Tae-Won and the newspaper articles about his corruption imprisonment been deleted? the newspaer links were provided.

Why was all the other frank information about SK Telecom deleted?

Nice konglish

from first paragraph, "SK Telecom is a provider of mobile service in Korea, with around 50% of the market share as of 2007." hmmm... only one service or is there only "mobile service".

from second paragraph "...MONETA, a financial service, Telematic service such as NATE Drive and even Digital Home service". Hmmm, "a telematic service... " maybe?

"In 2004, SK Telecom launched Hanbyul, the world’s first DMB satellite." - No it didnt... was the South Korean government involved? was the Japanese government involved? hmmm... I think they would be most upset to be left out. Proposal to revert back to content that is previous to "ayojeb" changes.

I agree with most of this, below, that was deleted by "ayojeb" the SKT employee. I worked for SKT from 2004-2006 at the SKT-Tower HQ building in Jongno, Seoul. My SKT employment number was 1503096. The Sovereign Asset Management stuff makes the news on BBC24 and NBC why would anyone delete that? The corruption is famous... Chey Taewon - SK's chairman has already been imprisoned for 6 months for corruption - check the BBC website. Someone already deleted all references to this before. In 2005 a "Mr. Ban", an SKT employee, also made news in South Korea for accepting money for contracts - this made tv on every news program. Unfortunately the 2 English language newspapers in Korea, The Korean Herald and The Korean Times require logon access to their archives so it is impossible to link to this information.

Below is basically correct, in my opinion. I suggest we re-instate this piece and improve. Comments please.

Company Problems Sk Telecom has for the last 2-3 years been the object of takeover bids from Sovereign Asset Management, a Singapore based investment company because of its very large operating costs considered as waste. Sovereign Asset Management has repeatedly tried to take over SK Corp which owns the largest share of SK Telecoms stock. This takeover attempt is a feature in Korean news before every shareholders meeting, each year. During South Korea's IMF crisis in the last 10 years some "Chaebols", or conclomorate corporations, were bought out by foreign companies e.g. Daewoo was separted into many companies like "GM Daewoo" for car manufacture. SK Telecom is still viable for take over because of financial laxety. The head of SK Group, Tae-Won Chae was imprisoned for 7 months after being convicted of corruption in 2003.[1][2]

Employee Conditions SK Telecom has its own workers union as a subsidiary of the SK workers union. All employees are guaranteed a working position at SK Telecom until they are 45 years old (western age). An employee may only be fired for committing a criminal offence against the company - a side effect of this is that no employee really cares about his/her job and it is not unheard of for employees to make mistakes that cost the company millions of dollars with no punishment. Employees not desired by the company any more are given over to the "Manpower Surplus Team" where they are just paid to sit at theirs desks until they can find another job or until they become 45 years old. SK Telecom follows a management system called SKMS (SK Management System). Created by SK Companies. 6Sigma is also popular in SK Telecom although 6Sigma is problematic in terms of a service company and should only be used for manufacturing companies that can take large statistical samples. In mid-2006 SK Telecom had 13 non-Korean employees. 1 UK, 1 USA, 1 Chinese, 10 Korean American out of approx. 6000 employees. In 2007 this was reduced to 11 non-Korean employees. 1 Chinese and 10 Korean Americans.

I can't beleive that the SK Telecom employee who wrote this commercial would be stupid enough to include their own jargon in this article. This article is clearly not POV. If anyone disagrees then I'll add a new wikipedia entry for "ubiquitous age" and give it the definition given in this article. As mentioned by the poster above "Is this universal terminology? that 2001 to 2007 is the ubiquitous age?".
