editIs the Smyke in this book the Smyke from City of the Dreaming Books? They have different first names, but otherwise they're very alike (both hate/have hated the Lindworm Castle/have been involved with it, are manipulative, charming if needed, and both are shark grubs)...
They are related, obviously. But there are two things one needs to consider: The City of Dreaming Books is set some hundred years earlier than Rumo and Bluebear (one may conclude this from information in Ensel und Krete, Moers’ untranslated Zamonia-novel). And take into account that The City of Dreaming Books and Rumo have a quite different status within the fiction: Rumo was written by Walter Moers, and thus may claim to depict real events in Zamonia, whereas The City was written by Yarnspinner, who does not hold with realism. So we may conclude that Pfistomel Smyke (from The City) may not have existed at all, while Moers claims that Volzotan Smyke did live in Zamonia. 134.93.228.26 (talk) 17:59, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Rumo in Bluebear and Rumo
editI have deleted the section dealing with the question of wether the Rumo mentioned in Bluebear and the protagonist in Rumo are identical. That question should not be discussed on the main page, or at least in an unbiased way.
My point is: The dot on Rumo’s forehead clearly identifies him. This dot is prominently mentioned in Bluebear, and may be discovered on the portrait illustration of Rumo in Rumo. Furthermore, the Rumos in both novels show the same traits of character. And they both are fast friends with Smyke. So, they both are the same Rumo. 134.93.228.26 (talk) 18:07, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Incorrect material

Yes, I can see how all of the four-letter names starting with "R" could get confusing...but that wasn't Rumo, it was Rolv (Rala's brother). Rumo doesn't have a sister. —Qit el-Remel (talk • contribs) 10:59, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
