That distinction belongs to Madame Berthe's Mouse Lemur at 30.6 grams, whereas the Pygmy Mouse Lemur is 45.2–49 grams as stated here in the morphology section. The confusion is probably because when M. myoxinus was rediscovered in 1993 and making it's way to Guinness World Records, there were only two other species of Mouse Lemure recognized (M. murinus and M. rufus) at the time, and M. berthae was thought conspecific with M. myoxinus. Since then several more species have been recognized, and despite its name, the Pygmy Mouse Lemur is no longer the smallest. --Anshelm '77 (talk) 20:24, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
