Princess Astrid, Archduchess of Austria-Este → Princess Astrid of Belgium – Although the wife of a member of the former ruling family of Austria whose title is recognized in Belgium, Astrid is best known as a Princess of Belgium because she is the only daughter of the reigning King of the Belgians, thus WP Naming Conventions call for use of that style. Discussion

  • Pages on princesses whose primary reason for being listed in an encyclopedia is their kinship to a monarchy's royal family should be identified as such when, as in this case, that is also where most people would expect to find her listed. Although her husband's traditional archducal title is constitutionally recognized in Belgium, he was also granted the title of "Prince of Belgium" in 1995, re-enforcing the fact that his wife (and issue) are primarily known by their Belgian royal title inside Belgium as well as abroad.
WP titles of other living married females of reigning families vary erratically, but moving this article would increase consistency by bringing it into conformity with the styles for Princess Benedikte of Denmark, Princess Nora of Liechtenstein, Princess Margriet of the Netherlands, Princess Astrid of Norway, and Infanta Elena of Spain. On the other hand, Princess Alexandra, The Honourable Lady Ogilvy, not Princess Alexandra of Kent. john k 03:50, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

The result of the move request was: page moved. Enough rationale given here and the other RM linked on the page that this is their common name. (closed by non-admin page mover) Steven Crossin Help resolve disputes! 13:06, 19 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Princess Astrid of Belgium, Archduchess of Austria-EstePrincess Astrid of Belgium – There aren't any other princesses of Belgium called Astrid, the disambiguator is unnecessary and we should use the common name. Princess Astrid of Belgium is about 200-times more common on google news searches than Astrid, Archduchess of Austria-Este. The opposers in the requested move above just voted without giving any rationales for keeping the current name. Celia Homeford (talk) 11:28, 12 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
