The result of the move request was: Moved to Peter Crowley (revolutionary), and dab page created at the base title. It seems that the hunger striker is not commonly referred to by his middle name, and the footballer, while leading in pageviews, is not obviously more notable long-term. While the participation was limited, I believe this is a reasonable outcome. No such user (talk) 13:27, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
Peter William Crowley → Peter Crowley – Procedural request, for User:Jburke2005. Requested at RfD (wrong forum) here with this rationale: "I propose that the redirect from Peter Crowley to Peter Crowley (Gaelic footballer) should be deleted. I intent to change the title of the article Peter William Crowley to "Peter Crowley", however, I cannot do so, as the redirect still exists. Peter William Crowley is notable as one of the world's longest hunger strikers, and I wish to change his page name to "Peter Crowley", as that is what he is referred to as in various documents, and in the media." - Note to closer If this RM is closed as not moved or no consensus, Peter Crowley (Gaelic footballer) should be moved back to Peter Crowley, as this was the primary topic before the
nominatororiginal nominator at RfD, Jburke2005, attempted to BOLDly perform the change in primary topic proposed above, not realizing it required a technical request. Since reverting this move and including it explicitly here as part of the proposal would require a messy round-robin move that could be temporary, I have not not done so. Ultimately we should not have the base name Peter Crowley as a redirect; it must either be a primary topic or disambiguation page per WP:Disambiguation. Mdewman6 (talk) 19:55, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
- Unless consensus is reached here that there is no primary topic and Peter Crowley should be a dab page (as Guliolopez mentions as an option), in which case create a dab at the base name rather than reverting the original move. Mdewman6 (talk) 22:37, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose move. The nomination doesn't include any evidence that the subject currently covered at Peter William Crowley is the primary topic. A news search, for example in the Irish Times suggests that (at least in current/contemporary sources) the GAA player (recently moved to Peter Crowley (Gaelic footballer)) is a likely candidate as WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Absent any evidence or rationale for the proposed change (or evidence that the proposed topic/subject is PRIMARYTOPIC) either (at most) "Peter Crowley" should become a DAB page. With two entries. Or, as noted by Mdewman6 above, Peter Crowley (Gaelic footballer) may simply be moved back to Peter Crowley. As was. Guliolopez (talk) 22:26, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
- Comment. Not sure if he's primary topic or not, but if not should be moved to Peter Crowley (revolutionary), as he certainly doesn't appear to have been commonly known by his full name. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:57, 22 September 2021 (UTC)
