Article Structure

edit

I suggest that this article needs a good restructuring by someone not involved in the group. One of the problems is the lack of chronology in the article. While I agree that the categories used at the moment are logical, some of them, especially the "Prestigious Performances" section lead to the article still feeling very biased in favour of the group, and needs rewriting to improve neutrality. I may get working on this myself if others feel this would be worthwhile. MrMarkBGregory 15:35, 9 July 2011

I agree with this - but it's been a while. I would like to get involved, but am aware that I have a biased interest having been a member of the group. Happy to help, but open to guidance if anyone feels I'm not being impartial. Sparkytheteacher (talk) 23:10, 15 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Notability Guidelines: Music

edit

I think this article satisfies notability criterion 9 for musical groups having recently placed in a major international music competition, as referenced in the article.

I concur, and added the perspective that they were instrumental in starting the European ICCA division, and have travelled extensively in the U.S. in their efforts to bring American-style college a cappella to Europe.

Hopefully enough has been added to the entry now to satisfy criteria.

Stub class

edit

I would suggest that this article should be elevated from the status of stub class given the recent extensive (albeit biased) work done on the page.217.137.120.129 (talk) 19:20, 23 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Additional references

edit

Re: extensive recent work, there is a case that the request for additional references should be removed.217.137.120.129 (talk) 19:20, 23 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Reopened October, 2019: Reopened this conversation with a [more citations needed] tag for the History section. Some sections in this article are very well-cited, while others (such as History and History) are not. Generally, the claims in this article seem verifiable, which is why I did not remove them, and simply marked them as needing references. Shrinkydinks (talk) 02:11, 30 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Advertisment POV

edit

I have editing the opening paragraph - does this improve the article re: advertisement style?217.137.120.129 (talk) 19:20, 23 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Members Lists

edit

I want to declare an association with the group (past member and currently secretary of the Alumni Association), but also get involved helping to maintain this page. I am open to suggestions on edits needed - but I particularly wish to update and clarify the list of alumni for Out Of The Blue. Comments and suggestions welcomed Sparkytheteacher (talk) 23:08, 15 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Assessment comment

edit

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Out of the Blue (British band)/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

I just rated this articles as Stub and Low Importance.

Stub: short article, no references Low importance: fairly obvious. Not related to the academic workings of the University, and while it is a great achievement on the part of the students, it is not of great importance to the wider world. Music notability is justified.

Hi there! To any and all interested: I've proposed a WikiProject dedicated to a cappella. This would be a group of editors interested in improving the quality of articles related to a cappella. If you're passionate about a cappella—ranging from the Pentatonix to collegiate a cappella groups like OOTB, or perhaps pop culture representations like Pitch Perfect and The Sing-Off—please check out the proposal and share your thoughts!

Here's a link to the proposal for WikiProject A Cappella.

If you could see yourself contributing to an article related to a cappella (like this one), please consider joining!
