The page currently says a number of states "refused to sign on to" the 2021 Olympic truce. This is not really accurate. Those states merely declined to co-sponsor the resolution. It was then passed by consensus without going to a vote, meaning that it was adopted by the whole assembly. It would be more accurate to say that said states refused to co-sponsor the truce.

I can't find a single sentence in this article that explains what the Olympic Truce is. I know that many promote it, and it has been violated, but I can't tell what it is Shaked13 (talk) 18:45, 26 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Good question - this may deserve its own section on the talk page, but it seems to me like the meaning is intentionally being obfuscated here. How exactly did Russia "violate" the truce? By not instantly ending wars it's involved in during the Olympics? If that's the case, how come Israel hasn't "violated" the truce by constantly being at war with Gaza? The US has gone to the Olympics while actively bombing other countries, almost every time. Almost 25 western countries refused to agree to the truce in 2022 due to their own political agendas.
