Slow start to season
editI tried to change the sentence "In 2016, after a slow start to the season," to "In 2016, after a good start to the season,", but it got reverted. I don't know why it says Fyfe had a slow start to the season, considering he was in career-best form playing a lot of time in the forward line and kicking nearly 2 goals a game. The widely accepted best way to statically measure a player's impact, the AFL Player Ratings, shows that Fyfe's first game was indeed poor by his standards, but was followed by 3 best-on-ground performances in a losing team and then he was injured in round 5. Source: AFL Player Ratings' twitter (https://twitter.com/AFLPlayerRating), graphs here: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ceh805UWIAASaAc.jpg, https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CfCVxJIUkAAlcAn.jpg, https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CfqX1nGVIAAy-g-.jpg, https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CgPB7L8UYAAOh-O.jpg, https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cgy_EGwUYAAeyI9.jpg. Feel free to add the source if you want but the sentence was already unsourced and seems like opinion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WeaselWJ (talk • contribs) 05:18, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
- You must be new to Wikipedia. It's likely the person who reverted your change has never heard of Nat Fyfe, and doesn't know anything about the AFL. There is a large body of editors who just go around reverting and/or deleting material for look-at-me purposes or god knows what. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.171.66.225 (talk) 08:05, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
- WeaselWJ, ignoring the sly dig from the IP, you make a very good argument. However, it should really be sourced – that's why I reverted the edit, as did Vanamonde. The initial assessment ("slow" over "good"), were because his numbers (as in statistics) weren't stacking up to his previous year's, as is reflected in the statistics section. Anyway, it was nothing untoward, just make sure you can source it next time. 4TheWynne(talk)(contribs) 11:45, 2 September 2016 (UTC)

Nathan Fyfe → Nat Fyfe – Per WP:COMMONNAME. Overwhelming use of Nat over Nathan in reliable sources. Mattinbgn (talk) 11:25, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
- Support per nomination, as confirmed by appended references and external links. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 14:39, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose – just a nickname, same as Lance "Buddy" Franklin in a lot of ways, mainly just the AFL media. 4TheWynne(talk)(contribs) 14:49, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
- Support clearly common name based on multiple sources. When typing just "fyfe" into google all sources say Nat i.e. [1], [2], [3] [4], [5], [6], [7] just to name a few from multiple different media outlets including the ABC, Fox Sports, The Australian, The Age, AFL Media, The West Australian, PerthNow etc. In addition to being common practice in WP:AFL such as Ty Vickery, Lachie Neale, Lachie Plowman and so on just to name a few.
