Merge sources in 2021 Samoan general elections

edit

In the final sentence of "2021 Samoan general elections", several sources are cited. Two sources, citation #30 (https://www.rnz.co.nz/international/pacific-news/442739/samoa-court-dismisses-call-for-second-election) and citation #31 (https://www.stuff.co.nz/world/south-pacific/300309759/samoa-court-dismisses-call-for-second-election-clearing-path-for-a-female-pm) are really the same source as citation # 31 says in the article "This story was originally published on RNZ.co.nz and is republished with permission." I propose that sources 30 and 31 be combined as they are duplicative and stemming from the same article on RNC.co.nz from the same date. Jurisdicta (talk) 05:50, 24 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

They are indeed the same aside from the headline, please feel free to delete the Stuff link. CMD (talk) 05:55, 24 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Numbering the prime ministers

edit

@Mewulwe:, @N Panama 84534:, @IdiotSavant: & @TurtleBlossomOwnsTheNight:, I don't care if you use an ordinal in the infobox or not. Just be consistent about it across all the Samoan prime ministers bio infoboxes. GoodDay (talk) 21:40, 17 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Article title

edit

According to section four of the One Samoana source, when an individual attains a matai title in Samoa, it becomes part of their name. For example, if an individual is named ‘Naomi Mataʻafa’ and is bestowed the title Fiamē, then upon gaining that title, her full name would become Fiamē Naomi Mataʻafa. Therefore I propose a page move back to ‘Fiamē Naomi Mata’afa.’ Not only is this the person's full name, but it would also comply with WP:COMMONNAME. Support. --IdiotSavant (talk) 00:02, 26 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Since there have been no further comments on my proposal since 26 November, I will proceed to move this article back to ‘Fiamē Naomi Mataʻafa’ for the following reasons:

-When an individual gains a matai title, it becomes a part of their name as established in the One Samoana source; hence Fiamē is part of her name

-The move would ensure compliance with WP:COMMON NAME

Are there any further comments/suggestions? N Panama 84534 (talk) 00:14, 30 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Naomi MataʻafaFiamē Naomi Mata‘afa – Per above, not only is Fiamē a part of her name but the move would ensure compliance with WP:COMMONNAME. N Panama 84534 (talk) 20:12, 30 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
