Fair use rationale for Image:FK Pelister Logo.jpg

edit

Image:FK Pelister Logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was no consensus on a name to change to - defaulting to no move at this time. JPG-GR (talk) 05:09, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Macedonian Premier League (football)Macedonian First League — The romanization of Cyrillic is Makedonska Prva Liga, the English version of Macedonian FA use Macedonian First League. The popularity of English top league - Premier League, does not means all other world also called Premier. —Matthew_hk tc 06:37, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Discussion

Me and AWN had a similar discussion a while ago. If interested, please see User talk:BalkanFever#Macedonian Premier Leagues and User talk:AWN2#Macedonian Premier Leagues. BalkanFever 07:00, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Why not just use Prva Liga, with the country identifier in front if needed to dismabiguate from other similarly named leagues? Other league names are not translated (e.g. [[La Liga, Allsvenskan, A Lyga etc.). I just don't see the need to tranlaste the competition name into English at all. - fchd (talk) 07:52, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Have a look on wiktionary:Prva, although Macedonian Second League not called Druga Liga, but sill how come Premier directly jump to Second? Matthew_hk tc 19:06, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Вторая лига of Soviet still translate as Soviet Second League. Matthew_hk tc 19:36, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
"Premier" means the same thing as "first", so it should not come as a surprise that some leagues systems go directly from "Premier" to "Second".
As for this article, I am in favor of moving it to Makedonska Prva Liga, or perhaps "Macedonian Prva Liga" - MTC (talk) 07:24, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

correct translation

edit

the correct name for this article is "First Macedonian Football League" as the correct name in macedonian is 'Прва македонска фудбалска лига". here a link from the macedonian fa's homepage (in macedonian): http://www.ffm.com.mk/mak/vest.asp?id=2381 {Првата и Втората МФЛ}.Icaf (talk) 02:02, 28 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

The correct translation in English does not need to follow the exact same ordering of adjectives. Per established convention, articles on sports leagues on English Wikipedia have titles which begin with the national designation, followed by league level, with the sport optionally added in between. See Scottish Premier League, Czech First League, Ukrainian Premier League, Danish Superliga, and many others. Timbouctou (talk) 23:49, 13 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Women's equivalent

edit

I created Macedonian women's football championship that article about the women'S first league. Maybe if a (local) person could add some info about the past champions. The league exists at least since 2001/02, possible ZFK Skiponjat won all the titles, as they were competing in the UEFA Women's Cup. -Koppapa (talk) 13:09, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Problems

edit

OK, I am having a seris of problems with this and other related articles. While a number of editors and IP´s insist on reverting me without understanding the reasons behind my edits, I will explain here the problems found here:

  • 1 - The article contains the section First_Macedonian_Football_League#Republic_League_.281945-1992.29 which is based on the List_of_Macedonian_football_champions#Republic_League which is UNSOURCED. We urgently need a source for that section as the unsourced information is being distributed to all club articles without any verification.
  • 2 - Regarding the same "Republic League", seems we have some editors with the tendency to present the Macedonian Republic League which was a Yugoslav 3rd/4th tier as equal to the present day First Macedonian Football League which is a top national tier. The problem is that all the best Macedonian clubs competed in higher Yugoslav leagues, thus the Macedonian Republic League could never claim anyhow to be equal as the present day Macedonian top league, so by that I suggest that linking Republic League to FMFL is wrong and that the Republic League should have a separate article, as Slovenian Republic Football League does.
  • 3 - I was faced with some vandalism at the article List of Macedonian football champions where some users seems to deny the inclusion of the Skopje Football Subassociation League into it. When they failed to do so, they created a parallel article List of Macedonian Football Champions (now a redirect but you can see the article edit history) an act which completely goes against Wikipedia recomendations. I would really like to hear the reason why the Republic League has the right to be included, while the same league played earlier in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia doesn´t?
  • 4 - Also, I am facing some constats silly argumentation, as seen here diff, where a user seems to think that it is OK to remove sourced information and has some strange argumentation about Gragjanski in Macedonian being written as Graganski... I know that gj can be replaced by a g with accent, a letter we don´t have in our keabord, thus gj has been used for this cases. FkpCascais (talk) 10:24, 24 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Help needed of North Macedonians

edit

Can any North Macedonian adjust the translation (Прва македонска фудбалска лига, Prva Мakedonska Fudbalska Liga) as I don't speak any Macedonia. I'm pretty certain from the editing history that the North Macedonian word for "north" is not included in this translation. Thanks. --Mwoofsh (talk) 10:17, 28 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
