Location

edit

Well, the introductory paragraph truthfully says that the airport is in "Chongwe District", Outside the boundaries of "Lusaka District". Now, would it be proper to also state it in the Infobox that the airport is not on Lusaka's Land? Chils Kemptonian (talk) 22:57, 6 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Location and Introduction

edit

The first thing this article says in the Introduction is that "the airport is located in Chongwe District". And then, in the Infobox, it is written that the location is Lusaka.

Well, it is true that this airport is "outside the boundaries of Lusaka District". So, in this case, should we edit the Infobox to spread the same message as the first sentence or should we leave it as it currently is?

This type of matter is not new (people always say O. R. Tambo International Airport is in Johannesburg when it is actually in Ekurhuleni). I'm just trying to eliminate the confusion of different parts of an article not spreading the same message when they are talking about the same thing.

I think what we need to do here is to make the first sentence state only that this airport serves Lusaka. The fact that the airport is located "outside the boundaries of Lusaka District" (in an adjacent district; Chongwe District to be precise) can be mentioned somewhere else but not the first sentence (maybe somewhere within the same paragraph).

Even if it may be obvious that "Chongwe District" is "not far from Lusaka", I still think the infobox and that location sentence should have the exact same words. I don't know how we are going to do it, but Lusaka and Chongwe are two separate entities; we shouldn't have one part saying Chongwe District and another part saying Lusaka (which is not part of Chongwe District). I see an anonymous editor has made the change in the Infobox. I think I'll leave it like this. Thanks. GeographicAccountant (talk) 11:25, 10 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
