Who no real people?

edit

I came to this list expecting it to be a list of real couples known to the newsmedia as supercouples - yet as far as I can see there isn't a real person on this list. Surely this should either contain both fictional and real people (in separate sections, of course), or be more accurately titled - the current name is extremely misleading, especially given that the term "supercouple" almost without fail seems to refe to real people these days, no matter whether it originally referred to fictional pairs or not. Is there an equivalent list or supercouples (REAL supercouples, not fantasy characters) somewhere on Wikipedia? Grutness...wha? 12:00, 30 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Euh - just looked at some of the long screed above. Looks like I've come late to a debate. You can add my 2¢-worth above to it. Rename, reshape, or ship out. Grutness...wha? 12:02, 30 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please scrub the primetime list

edit

There are some really weak entries on the primetime list that I have moved from the list to here:

  • Austin & Ally - listed as a "favorite TV couple"

  • Jessica and Hoyt in True Blood - listed as "fan favorite couple"

  • JR and Sue Ellen Ewing in Dallas – A tweet from a fansite that says I'm a bit drunk and hashtags the two doesn't mean they are a supercouple. Please find another source

  • Lorelai Gilmore and Luke Danes in Gilmore Girls – TV Tropes is not a reliable source for supercouples. The site has user-generated entries as it has moved to a Wiki, and is not traceable to external articles for its research.

  • Barney and Robin, How I Met Your Mother – Does not call them a power or super couple

  • Spencer and Toby in Pretty Little Liars – So they won a ship bracket and is listed among the cutest couples. That doesn't make them a super couple. This doesn't say anything about them being a super couple or a power couple, or that they have generated massive popularity beyond their small groups of fans. I haven't checked the others, but it really needs another scrubbing. Even the Alias couple's reference says they're almost a super couple. [1] So does that mean they are or not? Removed Jasmine and Logan / I Didn't Do it. M Magazine article says they are the "perfect OTP couple". OTP has been noted on the main supercouple page as current verbiage from fan mania surrounding the couples. Is that enough to keep it there? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:25, 27 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Pretty Little Liars, Hanna and Caleb

edit

I found this link that calls Hanna and Caleb a super couple but I don't know how to add it, could someone do it for me please? [2] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.132.184.186 (talk) 08:51, 2 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Girl Meets World

edit

Cory and Topanga aren't considered a supercouple for their roles in Girl Meets World. They're married in that sequel but it is not a driving part of the series as with the original series. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:08, 1 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

1. From Days of our Lives: You didn't list Austin Reed & Carrie Brady as a supercouple - pretty classic 90's couple. Remember when Carrie slaps Sammy. Most of Sammy's first time on Days was trying to break a part Austin & Carrie. 2. From The Young & The Restless: Nick & Phyllis were together from 2006-2010 and again from 2012-2013 (not the consecutive 2006-2013 you have listed). 3. Passions: You also didn't list Ethan Crane & Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald as a super couple..

Thats all I can see but I didn't watch every show :)

Other mediums?

edit

I've noticed, like another editor above, that there are no real supercouples here, which I personally find odd but I do understand. However, there also aren't any supercouples from literature (i.e. Romeo and Juliet, Hazel Lancaster and Augustus Waters) (these aren't the best examples but hear me out) and I'd like to know if there's a specific reason for those not being included. JackOfPanTrades |Converse intellectually| 00:46, 3 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

JackOfPanTrades, as you probably saw from looking at #Requested move: Move back to List of fictional supercouples above, there are no real supercouples because the list was titled "List of fictional supercouples." Since the move, no real-life supercouples have been added. And, per my arguments above, I'm against the list being expanded in that way anyway. As for Romeo and Juliet, etc., if there are WP:Reliable sources naming them as supercouples, you should feel free to add them. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 02:03, 5 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I do understand the part about real supercouples not being included, and I'll try to find sources for literary supercouples. JackOfPanTrades |Converse intellectually| 13:56, 6 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

What about finding a reliable source for Doug Ross and Carol Hathaway of ER since they are considered by many ER fans as a supercouple. Luke and Lorelai with Gilmore Girls needs to be updated to include when they got back together plus the revival, so it would be 2004-2006, 2007-current (since the series confirmed they were together the entire time in the nine years between the series finale and the revival, then married at the end of the revival) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Savvyliterate (talkcontribs) 17:30, 7 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
