Talk:List of terrorist incidents in July–December 2011

Original research tag. edit

This article contains incidents that are not called "terrorism" or "terrorist" by the source material, IE. the drone attacks. Further, the "state" and "non-state" sections are completely un-sourced. The state, versus non state section should be removed in keeping with the previous List of terrorist incidents articles. (all of which, from 1970 -2010) do not have an unsourced state versus non state section.) If the original research were removed from this page there would undoubtedly be enough room to fit the incidents in 1 article without having to split it up int 6 month sections. I agree that there are entries this page where the perpetrator is unknown and the state and non state columns should both be left blank.
Current consensus is that
  • Many sources use 'terrorism' as a label to condemn their enemies. If we place an incident on a list of 'terrorist incidents' we would be endorsing this non-neutral labeling - a breach of the NPOV policy.
  • Excluding attacks by a state gives undue weight to non-state attacks - people are just as dead afterwards.
See Talk:List_of_armed_conflicts_and_attacks,_January_–_June_2011#new_criteria_NEED_OTHER_OPINIONS particulariy the subsections. Personally I believe all those pages of lists for 1970 to 2010 should be renamed and tagged NPOV. --filceolaire (talk) 23:40, 7 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
