Name of the article

edit

Hello. When I created List of active coal-fired power stations in Turkey I copied the name from this excellent article. But now I see that all the other countries which have Lists of coal fired power stations don't have "active" in the title. So should we rename? Chidgk1 (talk) 19:49, 15 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

When i created this article i used the term active so as to differentiate between power stations in operation and those which had been decommissioned. The article i saw with just list of coal fired power stations in has both active and closed stations. I wanted to track the phase out of coal and would then delete any power station that was closed. Your article is very good and i never knew how many coal stations Turkey had still in operation. I think we have the title correct and the other articles are more confusing as its hard to get a handle on which ones are active in their articles. Bs0u10e01 (talk) 11:38, 18 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

GW vs. MW

edit

Do you guys think it would be better to MW for the capacity instead of GW like in the United States article? OrangeRye (talk) 17:33, 17 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Drax vs West Burton

edit

The two plants have contract coverage (until September 2022 for Drax) but neither plans to be active under "normal" circumstances. Not sure why list one but not the other. In fact, I think that both should be listed with an asterisk. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FEA8:12E0:1C9:B105:3BCE:7DD:25F3 (talk) 15:30, 5 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Future of article?

edit

I am proposing that when Ratcliffe station closes this year this articles name is changed to Coal phase-out in the United Kingdom which is currently redirected to this article anyway. And then at that point add more information about green steal production? Mark999 (talk) 23:19, 21 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
