Unreliable sources tag

edit

I was asked kindly and politely:D NOT to remove the tag. I checked each and every source on the page; some are of much better quality and depth than other. But I didn't find any that was blatantly unreliable. WP:NEWSORGINDIA is a subsection in an informational page that is very general and does NOT state that all non-bylined sources cannot be used, for example, (It says "Exercise caution in using such sources for factual claims or to establish notability" or "this issue is distinct from that of journalism quality and bias, and that of sham news-style websites.") so that I honestly wonder what are the incriminated sources. One source affiliated with the subject is used 7 times (that is probably too much) on the page but it is used for verification purpose. And the source cannot be deemed plainly unreliable anyway. One can add "according to the production company website", if that resolves the issue. I am therefore inviting users who wish to maintain (or revert its removal) the Non-reliable sources tag on the page, to indicate here what sources precisely are concerned and why precisely, and individually, they think the said sources need to be removed, taking into the account the precise type of content they are used for (broadcast dates, cast names) so that I or other users interested in improving the page can find better sources if needed; if that is not done or cannot be done, I am inviting anyone to please simply remove the tag, as it indicates an issue, that despite my willingness to address it, I am unable to understand. The AfD, also referred to, discusses 1 non-reliable source (Republic world, which is unreliable according to consensus,.... but it's not used on the page) and the other "non-reliable" sources are not precisely identified nor is it discussed in detail why or according to what consensus, they should be considered so. We are talking about a series originally broadcast almost 30 years ago. After various efforts to improve this type of pages, I am personally NOT willing to do it anymore and will leave it at that, and will NOT edit the page anymore myself nor comment here anymore. -My, oh my! This implies that I did NOT review the sources. I did. So did others if you see the analysis in the deletion discussion. They are unreliable under WP:NEWSORGINIDA and the WP:ONUS would be on you for including them should you feel they are reliable. As stated in the edit summary, I did not remove them, only tagged so it can be cleaned up. Feel free to do so. --CNMall41 (talk) 21:40, 10 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
