Reviews
editSix old reviews are listed here [1], the list is incomplete as it is missing the walkthrough published in SS linked below. A pretty good online review is at [2], but it's a forum so not RS. Two scanned reviews from SS (well, a review and a walkthrough in another edition) can be found at [3], and another at [4], but copyright status of those is unclear (to say the least), so they also cannot be directly linked. I also found the scan of the 1994 manual at thecompany.pl/manual/56_kajko_i_kokosz-manual.pdf, again, the copyright is likely not allowing us to link this (and the site itself is even blacklisted in our wiki filters...). I am not sure what is our policy on linking to stores (it has recently - 2020 - been released on GOG[5] which was even noted by media: [6]). Lastly, I also found a blog talking about a fan remake ([7]), but again, this is likely not RS. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:10, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

- ... that Kajko i Kokosz of 1994 was the first of several Polish video games based on the comic book series of the same name? Source: https://entuzjastagier.pl/2018/08/kajko-i-kokosz.html
- ALT1:... that the 1994 Polish video game Kajko i Kokosz was not playtested, and the initial release had to be recalled and replaced? Source: https://books.google.com/books?id=LWVoCgAAQBAJ&pg=PT197

- Article is new enough and long enough, and the sourcing is sufficient for DYK purposes. Only ALT1 is approved as it may have a broader and more global appeal compared to ALT0; assuming good faith for the Polish-language sources that's used as references. QPQ has been done. Before the nomination can be approved however, the article needs to be copyedited for grammar and other issues. For example, "that has released games..." should be "that had released games..." since it's talking about a past event. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 09:32, 21 July 2020 (UTC)
- I'll ping User:Nihil novi - could you look at this short article? Also I think you'll find the discussion of translation issues and typos related to the comic book amusing (flute vs fiut :D). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:40, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
- Ping User:Piotrus:
- I've copyedited the article. Some points need clarification. Example: in the final sentence, beginning, "Despite a number of other Polish games based on the[clarification needed] comics," does "the comics" in fact refer to the original "Kajko and Kokosz" comics – or is the word "the" an error?

- Another possibility I could see here could be to combine ALT0 and ALT1 by mentioning that the game was based on a comic book series (if not necessarily saying that it was the first of several; perhaps just add wording like "based on the comic book series of the same name" to ALT1). - @Narutolovehinata5: How about the ALT2 below? If this is a bit too long, suggest removing 'recalled' or 'replaced', and/or the 'released in 1994'. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:16, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
- ALT2:... that the first Polish video game based on the Kajko and Kokosz comic book series, released in 1994, was not playtested, and the initial release had to be recalled and replaced?
- As the subject is the video game and not the comic book, along with the fact that I'm not sure if the series is well-known outside of Poland, I'd suggest just going with the "based on the comic book series of the same name" wording as opposed to the one that goes "the first Polish video game based on..." Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 06:31, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: Ok, so ALT2b below: --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:52, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

- I'd word it as something like ALT2c: ... that the 1994 video game Kajko i Kokosz, the first based on the Polish comic book series of the same name, was not playtested, and the initial release had to be recalled and replaced?, but otherwise I think we should be good to go with that. ALT2c (which is just a slight rewording of ALT2b) is approved. If there's a desire to remove certain words that can be done in prep. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 03:19, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you, I am fine with Alt2c as well. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:16, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

Copyedit questions
edit- If the terms "errors" and "puzzles" will be clear to the article's readers (I confess to total ignorance of video games), then that indeed resolves my questions about those terms.
- It, however, still potentially leaves a classical "pronoun disambiguation problem" in the second sentence of the "Development" section, which mentions 2 possible candidates for "They": "'Seven Stars' studio", and "the ASF s.c. studio". I tend to assume the first to be the correct antecedent, but if that is correct, then it would be better to say: "Seven Stars secured rights..."
- Thank you.
