John Scott (cricketer, born 1841) → John Scott (English judge) – Sir John Scott was much better known for his career as a judge than for his apparently undistinguished appearance in only 4 first-class cricket matches.
This article was created (by User:BlackJack) as a well-formed stub on a cricketer, but was later massively expanded by another editor who evidently had more sources available, and turned it into a much more rounded biography. Scott's obituary in The Times (here, subscription required) is over 400 words long, but only 16 words discuss his cricket career.
Note that John Scott, 1st Earl of Clonmell was a notable Irish judge, so John Scott (judge) would be an incomplete disambiguation. However, Sir John Scott spent most of his career in Egypt and India, and is best known for his work in Egypt, so a more appropriate title might be something along the lines of John Scott (British colonial judge). The neatest unambiguous title would be Sir John Scott (judge), which is permissible per WP:NCPEER#4, but rarely used. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 16:20, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

You wrote the stub quite properly, with the info you had available -- and you note, biogs often shift emphasis as more sources are found and articles develop.
