Merge edit

  • I don't think it can be done without losing information for this article, and getting lost in the monsterous Kim Jong-il article. --Falcorian (talk) 19:24, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose merge as above. The other article is too long and this one should be expanded. Arbusto 00:46, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment (by article creator): one thing I failed to do when I created the article, and we all still haven't corrected, is establishing the notability of the subject independently of the fact that she's KJI's niece and she's notorious only for a single incident (her suicide) but pretty much had never been mentioned in the press before that. IMHO that should not be necessary -- after all, we have articles like Chelsea Clinton -- but I'm also not surprised that other editors may assert that she doesn't meet WP:BIO requirements and thus should be merged into the article of someone who is definitely notable. cab 03:50, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • i agree with the writer: the article does not establish her relevance as a public or infamous figure outside of the fact that she is related to kim jong il, in other words "why do we, a legitimate (i use this term losely) encyclopedia, care? if the article were to be expanded to include this information or otherwise demonstrate her importance outside of the context of the "Kim Dynasty" (as it were) then the article might have reason to stand alone, otherwise it should be merged with the Kim Jong Il article. (btw: i don't think the Kim Jong Il article is too long) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.173.38.3 (talkcontribs) 09:19, 21 October 2006
This should probably be a policy-level debate, then, rather than an individual article-level debate. After all, we have a whole Category:Children of Presidents of the United States, not to mention Roger Clinton, etc.; and relatives of hereditary leaders are rarer than relatives of elected presidents ... try proposing something on one of the policy talk pages. Some other reading:
