Indeed, it appears this page was created as a copy of that one in April 2007. While the pages have developed slightly differently since then, there's no real need for two substantially identical articles, so I've redirected this one to that one. Robofish (talk) 15:40, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

Living?

Ellison was a member of Category:Year of death missing, so I added him to Category:Place of death missing too. But is there any evidence that he's dead? Normally we assume someone is alive unless we see otherwise, and I couldn't find much of anything on his activities after moving to Elohim City from some searching. Category:Possibly living people is specifically for people 90+, but we don't have a birth year for this guy either. --BDD (talk) 18:12, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

Apologies for WP:OR, however this is such an obscure subject that there aren't any articles about it to my knowledge. Posting this here because quite frankly wikipedia shouldn't say deceased people are still alive. Polygamist

Why is "Polygamist" part of the title of this article? Is that not condescending both to the subject (not taking him seriously as a religious leader) and to anyone practising polygamy (assuming that doing so is a sort of dastardly trait that gets to go in parenthesis next to your name in encyclopedias from then on). I mean, I’m not religious myself, and this guy was probably a freak, but his legal hassles were on weapons charges, not polygamy, so why does the headline problematize this particular aspect? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.251.228.69 (talk) 01:57, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

The point of the word in parentheses is just to differentiate him from other people named James Ellison. I agree that "polygamist" might not be the best choice, but I'm not sure what would be the best. Would "white supremacist" be better? -- Irn (talk) 14:12, 8 April 2017 (UTC)
