Neutrality

edit

The failure to remove Chase is far mnre disputable than this page acknowledges. It is not surprising that Rehnquist should be glad that Congress does not impeach for judicial murder, nor for other judicial misconduct; but can we have a reliable source, not a man, who (like Roger Taney) violated the secrecy of the court for political putposes? Then again, there is this absurdity:

During his first term, Congress and the Jefferson Administration attempted to reign in or destroy the judicial branch of government through legislation and impeachment

Literate "authors" rein in, and the Jeffersonians did not attempt to destroy the judicial branch outside Federalist hysteria, then and now. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 18:54, 15 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

This article is replete with errors great and small, so feel free to savage it with impunity. -Rrius (talk) 20:13, 15 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

no it's not. Ericl (talk) 14:09, 19 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Intro needed

edit

This article really needs more of an intro. How does one impeach a federal judge, anyway? Curious readers want to know! Nareek (talk) 21:16, 5 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

A massive reversion

edit

I reverted a massive amount of work by an intern calling themselves “secret name101” The reason was that they removed a very large amount of material without replacing it before they got bored and left. So I reverted everything to just before they started. There is some good stuff that I removed and apologize, but the stuff that they removed was some historically significant events, and that is more important.

Innes NOT Innis

edit

On 2023-07-31 I noticed a discussion in this article of "Harry Innis" with a link to "[[Harry Innes|Harry Innis]]". This included a citation to "18 Annals of Cong. 1858, 1860 (1808)." Checking there I found a discussion of Harry "Innes" NOT "Innis". Two other citations included the Innes spelling. I found nothing supporting "Innis". Accordingly, I'm changing "Innis" to "Innes".
