I thought this sentence ("dragged Britain into war") was not accurate, smacks of political bias or at the very least oversimplifies the poltical and economic reasons for Britain's wars with the early French Republic. user: max rspct

Motto edit

Is the motto Nemo Me Impune Lacessit (No-one assails me with impunity) or En Ferus Hostis (Behold a fierce enemy) Sleigh 21:08, 14 March 2006 (UTC) The first motto is that of the Regiment, and also that of the Order of the Thistle (no one touches a thistle without being pricked). The second motto is that of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards, at present the only active battalion in the Regiment. When I served, there was also a 2nd Battalion, whose motto was Unita Fortior (united in strength).Ballenstedter (talk) 18:23, 27 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
