Thanks The Bushranger and GraemeLeggett for working on this article. This was my father-in-law's ship and my husband and I inherited a lot of information about it for that reason (about 20 kg worth...), but other than that I know nothing about military matters.

I have quite a bit of information about crew reunions that were held for many years after the war. Is it appropriate to add this material to the page? There are newspaper clippings, etc. —Anne Delong (talk) 20:57, 15 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Always interesting to hear of personal connections with articles, hopefully we've steered a course between helping and taking over. The crew reunions are probably not notable of themselves, but the newspaper clippings may include information about her service which is, and there's plenty of room for that. If you have doubts about what ought or oughtn't go in, suggest it here on the talk page first. GraemeLeggett (talk) 21:35, 15 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hmmm... that reminds me that I also have about 25 years worth of monthly newsletters from this group. I never thought that I might find a use for them. There must be some material in that. Oh, and a six-hour videotape of personal remembrances, but of course these may not be accurate. —Anne Delong (talk) 21:48, 15 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
As Graeme said, the newspaper clippings are of great value - as long as they include the paper name, date, and (preferably) page number, they're a treasure trove of information there, no doubt. WP:UNDUE is a small concern, but old papers provide tons of otherwise impossible-to-get information. The monthly newsletters are slightly less useful, as they're likely primary and/or self-published sources, but can help to confirm simple facts (i.e. where the ship was and when). Glad to be able to help out.   - The Bushranger One ping only 21:59, 15 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
