Talk:German Jordanian University

Removal of paragraph about studying in Germany

edit

I have removed a paragraph about studying in Germany, because the citations don't support the added text. The two citations are:

I feel that these two citations are inadequate to support this content: "The German Jordanian University adheres to a close partnership with higher education institutions around the globe, particularly with German applied science universities. All GJU Bachelor students must travel to Germany for one year. The German Year is a compulsory requirement for all GJU students to graduate. It consists of a study semester at one of GJU partner universities[7] and an internship semester in one of the businesses or industries partners[8] located throughout Germany." Comments welcome. — Diannaa (talk) 12:58, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Dear Diannaa, thank you for your clarification, however, the first source is a map for the location of the German universities partners. the map's title is academic partners. when point the mouse on the pin the university's name is shown.
the second reference list the industrial partners. so I believe both references are relevant to the text. Amani rosan (talk) 13:12, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
when you click on the logo it takes you to the company's website. Amani rosan (talk) 13:13, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
The points that the map and icons don't cover:
  1. That the university has close ties with German universities. It's just dots on a map
  2. That the university has close ties with other universities worldwide. The map is of Germany only
  3. That students are requred to study in Germany for one year
  4. That this is required for graduation
  5. That internships are offered by the companies whose icons are shown on the page. For these reasons, it's my opinion that the sources are inadequate. — Diannaa (talk) 13:19, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I only cited (GJU partner universities) and (industrial partners) not the whole paragraph! do you suggest that I should add link instead of citation? Amani rosan (talk) 13:26, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Everything in the paragraph needs a source, or you can't add it. This is a basic rule of Wikipedia. I am not suggesting you should add a link instead of a citation. — Diannaa (talk) 13:32, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
