Old talk
editI think there's enough here to separate out some separate biographies. Vasily in particular has quite a number of inbound links. -- Cyrius|✎ 09:27, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
governors of Pihkova from this family
edit- Miihkali Antreinpoika Golitsin was governor of Pihkova in the 1680s 82.181.234.211 (talk) 19:50, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
I have added the information about Father Alexander Golitzin's recent elevation to Bishop of Toledo and the Bulgarian Diocese in the Orthodox Church in America. I did not add a new citation for this because it is already covered by the citation which covers the rest of his biographical information. I have never edited Wikipedia before and am not sure what ll the protocol is, so I am just putting this here to let everyone know what I added. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.92.245.2 (talk) 08:31, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
Requested move 16 February 2015
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: page moved. Tempted at first to relist in view of no comments, but it has been relisted once already, no opposition, and the undisambiguated name Golitsyn is a DAB, so I'm assessing it as valid consensus to move as proposed. Galitzine → House of Golitsyn – Golitsyn is correct and common, and it is a noble house. --Relisted. — Amakuru (talk) 13:04, 24 February 2015 (UTC) Wikimandia (talk) 06:27, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
Support as nominator - The family name in Russian is Golitsyn (Голицын). There's no A, there's no Z, there's no E at the end: it's not "Galitzine" by any measure, which is a French transliteration that should carry no weight on English Wikipedia. This spelling is not the English common name - see 2009 English-language memoir Memoirs of a Survivor: The Golitsyn Family in Stalin's Russia as well as many Golitsyn articles on here already. Certainly, the family member who went to France or Italy and established a notable career as a fashion designer should retain her name as Galitzine, etc. But there is no reason for the whole article to be called "Galitzine". Additionally, since it's about the noble house and not just a prominent family, it would be nice to have "House of" in the title. Even the Wikicommons section is "House of Golitsyn" — Wikimandia (talk) 06:27, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

You are missing a famous Galitzine.
editNicholas Galitzine, a british actor is a descendant of the Golitsyn family, someone should add him to the list. 2A01:C22:ADFF:7500:74C4:B710:E145:DE49 (talk) 06:58, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
