There should be an actual link to the Wikipedia page about Gob, rather than just mentioning them. --TagarSpinebreak

Cleanup

edit

This disambiguation page was marked for cleanup per MoS:DAB. I removed the following entries:

  • In the Bible, Gob was the location of two battles between the Israelites and the Philistines, mentioned in 2 Samuel 21:18-19. -- "gob" not mentioned in the linked-to articles, so this entry should not be included on a dab page
  • Gob is British English slang for mouth. Probably from Scottish or Irish Gaelic, mouth, beak, puckered mouth.
  • Gob in Manx Gaelic means mouth, beak, muzzle, hook, bow (of ship), point, nosepiece, nose, spout, lip of jug, apex, nib, jet, pee of anchor, jut, headland, prominence, promontory, spit and is the name of river mouths or estuary points. See ManxNoteBook and usage/location Map
  • Gob and gobbing are also British English slangs for spit and spitting - i.e. emissions from the gob.
  • Gob is slang for sailor (usually US navy). -- all four entries are at wikt:gob (WP:WINAD).
  • GOB [GOBN] stands for Great Outdoors Brotherhood. It is a group that was started in the Northeastern United States. It's members are outdoorsmen who get to together strictly to enjoy what nature and the outdoors has to offer. One of the localized groups was formed in Norway, Maine. They are called the GOBN. Most of its members can be found in Southeastern NH. The GOB is also the sworn enemies of the TROGS. -- non-notability
