Suggested move to Falmouth working boat edit

Falmouth work boat and Falmouth workboat do occur but, as far as I can see, those occurences are mainly from outside Falmouth. I have only ever heard the vessels referred to as Falmouth working boats. Examples:

Falmouth Working Boat Association[1]
Local yacht surveyor[2]
Local sailing club[3]
Local Web site[4]
Local artist[5]
Local newspaper[6]

I suggest the article be moved to Falmouth working boat.

The various writers on traditional working craft of Britain seem to use neither term for any specific type of boat. If settling on a name, they go for:
"Fal sailing oyster dredger" (Eric McKee, Working Boats of Britain, their shape and purpose),
"Fal oyster dredging boat" (John Leather, Gaff Rig).
Edgar J Marsh quotes a letter (written in 1961) from Gerald Ruston, a boatbuilder from Restronguet - this talks about "river boats" of 15-17 ft, whose use included oyster dredging. (Inshore Craft of Britain in the Days of Sail and Oar).
The book Inshore Craft: Traditional Working Vessels of the British Isles (this is essentially the same work as the Chatham Directory of Inshore Craft), edited by Basil Greenhill and Julian Mannering has a section headed "Falmouth Working Boats". The first subsection is "Falmouth Oyster Dredger", the next section is headed "Falmouth Quay Punt".
(I suggest that these writers represent the vast bulk of, or possibly all the authorities on British small craft worked under sail. E W White appears not to mention this type in British Fishing Boats and Coastal Craft, though discusses the Quay Punt at length.)
Thinking of sets and subsets, I suggest that the "Fal/Falmouth oyster dredger" is the subject of the article and that it is a type of "Falmouth Working Boat" (as is the Quay Punt), so it is quite reasonable to have a local association for the broader grouping, even if most or all of the members have oyster dredgers. What that does for the proposed move? - the new article name would be better than the old one, but I a unconvinced that it is ideal.ThoughtIdRetired (talk) 23:30, 22 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
