How to spell his name?

It depends on the romanization system used as his name is originally written in Cyrillic, Чигринський. In most systems it seems like the Ukrainian ”г” is romanized as ”h”. UEFA uses Chygrynskiy so I guess we can go with that. –Kooma (di algo) 08:09, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Barcelona just released the official squad list, and his name is spelled Txigrinski. Is this something that should be taken into consideration? --Tk TommyKim (talk) 21:52, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

After browsing around on wikipedia I only found Wikipedia:Romanization of Ukrainian which says is name should be spelled Chyhrynskiy, since he is Ukrainian, or is there a wiki-rule/consensus we should follow UEFA-spelling for soccer/football players? Chygrynskiy looks more Russian and his previous club is in a part of Ukraine where Russian is more spoken then Ukrainian, however he is born in a part of Ukraine where Ukrainian is more spoken then Russian... this is probably the course of this different versions of his name popping up... Chygrinskiy was born in a part of Ukraine were Ukrainian is far more spoken than Russian. However,in Donetsk, where he reached his success as a player - Russian is more dominant language.~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by AiGreko (talk • contribs) 08:23, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

what does this mean? and why is it written that way?

In the Shaktar Donetsk section: "This was not the end of the club's European journey though as they parachuted down to the UEFA Cup." --Ioscius ^(talk) 23:40, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
