Move to 'Darin'?

edit

I think that this article should be moved to Darin because it is his artist name. Anyone agree/disagree? BMW Z3 20:03, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Disagrees. --Matrix17 16:25, 29 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Defintely agree, I was about to post that on here. I mean, the article for Madonna isn't called 'Madonna Ciccone'. This guys name is just Darin, so that's what the article should be called. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.234.135.164 (talk) 20:18, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Move back to Darin (singer)

edit

The article was most recently moved to Darin Zanyar in 2013, with the edit summary: "Surtsicna moved page Darin (singer) to Darin Zanyar over redirect: much better and more natural disambiguation" – which I disagree with, since I guess many more people knowing a little about Darin know he's a singer than those who know his surname (he is plain 'Darin' on his record covers, for example).

Policy and guidelines:
WP:Article title#Use commonly recognizable names
WP:Naming conventions (people)#Single name

If the single name is used as a true artist's name (stage name), the following recommendation can be followed:

WP:Naming conventions (people)#Nicknames, pen names, stage names, cognomens

So I think the article should be moved back to Darin (singer). --83.255.58.232 (talk) 17:47, 29 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I notice the article currently begins with: "Darin Zanyar, better known simply as Darin", and before that (from 2009 to 2012) said: "more commonly known as Darin". --83.255.57.82 (talk) 00:15, 22 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Choice of picture in the infobox

edit

I prefer Darin 2009.jpg, where he looks more like the stage performer he is, compared to DarinNYC2014.jpg, which looks like it's from a fashion magazine, with Darin in a private-ish setting, removed from either the stage or the recording studio.
Oh, now I see Darin 2009.jpg is used further down in the article (under the 2012 heading ). But my opinion stands regarding picture for the infobox. --83.255.55.91 (talk) 11:28, 11 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
