Talk:Dancing with the Stars (American TV series) season 7

Participant rumors edit

Just a reminder, folks--rumors without reliable sources are not acceptable, and any editor can remove them (I'm not the only one to have done so). The one posted this morning that includes Lance Bass, etc., is acceptable, since it does cite a reliable source. Samer (talk) 16:48, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, the attempts at vandalism are still continuing, so I'm asking admins to protect the page until the 25th. Samer (talk) 12:35, 7 August 2008 (UTC) Dan Marino says he declined the offer and that the reports were not true —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.104.100.118 (talk) 23:43, 7 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's not vandalism. it's just stuff that maybe the newsreporters don't know that we do. So, Samer, chill out. isn't it okay to have a little fun predicting? Chill!

To whoever wrote the above: quoting reputable sources (e.g., TVGuide.com) talking about the rumors is fine. But just randomly making up stuff makes a Wikipedia page useless.
This is why I deleted (at least temporarily) rumors of Kardashian's return. If you can provide a reputable source, I promise I will leave them alone. Samer (talk) 14:00, 7 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Two Dance Weeks edit

I would think for the six seasons, plus this one, we should divide the two dance sections and for Weeks 7,8,9 & 10, create a section for the totals. I got this idea from the double section for week 1. 75.89.232.15 (talk) 10:27, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

It is a good idea, but here's the thing. We divided it like that because the couples' final total did not matter at all. However since they actually talk about them in weeks 7, 8, 9, & 10 we don't have to. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but we don't have to. You have my liking though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.243.210.16 (talk) 22:43, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Callout chart edit

Is the callout chart really necessary? The color coordination isn't well matched with the rest of the article, and it seems a bit superfluous... IRK!Leave me a note or two 02:04, 1 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I was just about to come here to leave a note about it too. The colors are completely arbitrary (and not easy to remember without constantly glancing back at the key). I think it would be easier, at the very least, to separate out who had the encore for the week, so the only things recorded in the chart are: came in first, came in last, was eliminated. That way, you could have two main colors. Let's just say green for coming in first place and red for coming in last place. If the couple also was eliminated, you could make it the same color but a darker shade. That way, it would be much easier to tell apart the colors. Then have a separate list for the encores. --Fbv65edeltc // 05:20, 1 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
A lot of the chart stuff in the article goes beyond encyclopedia and is deeply entrenched in fan website territory. The averages are out of bounds for personal research, too.76.209.220.7 (talk) 04:27, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
My whole problem with it, is it's duplicated by the Songs Listing/Running Order. Its not needed, and distracts away from the rest of the article. 76.186.182.113 (talk) 03:23, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Misty's Withdraw edit

Hello Misty withdrew! Didn't she? Look I searched news articles on Dancing with the Stars and it was the second most read article. She withdrew. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.243.210.16 (talk) 22:48, 4 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Placing edit

The placing on the casting chart is stupid! They scroll down, they'll freaking see it! Someone please delete it and block that editor, please! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.243.210.16 (talk) 13:15, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Disagree with you. It's a good thing to have at the top of the page for the people that just want to know whether their favorite couple is still in the competition or not. Yes, they can scroll down and figure it out based on the other charts there, but it will take longer and some people are just too stupid to figure it out without being told "So-and-so finished 11th". Cespence17 (talk) 22:33, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oh no I know that. I'm just saying I don't like the placing being right at the end of the name. Taht's the stupid thing that drives me crazy. If you want to keep that put it at the front, change the numbers to words, and get rid of the word "place" after every number!—Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.243.210.16 (talk) 06:56, 13 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Musical Guests edit

Whoever is trying to predict the songs that the guests are performing, you may as well just leave it blank if you don't have a source confirming it...you were wrong last week, and you're probably going to be wrong again this week. Just wait for the show to air! Cespence17 (talk) 22:32, 14 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dance Chart edit

Again, where are your getting your information on who is dancing what next week? It's been wrong before, and since you aren't citing your source, I doubt it's very reliable. Don't speculate; just leave it blank. We aren't going to die if we don't know what dances each couple is doing next week! Cespence17 (talk) 13:12, 15 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Average Chart edit

Should we really include the scores from the team dances? I mean I was with it from the start but now I'm wondering about it. It was a group effort and doesn't relate to how well they were in the competition. Also the show didn't. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.197.10.116 (talk) 15:35, 4 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
