COI edit

The initial contributor to this article has contributed only to this article and to one article that cites the subject of this one, hence a presumption of some COI. Bongomatic (talk) 17:24, 24 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I'm intimately familiar with the subject but tried to write the article from a NPOV. There are several references within the article from external verifiable sources so I really don't know what the problem is.

The contributions referenced are all public, including the editing of the ODMG Java chapter; the authorship of the JDO O'Reilly book, the patent on object-relational mapping, the maintenance lead for Java Specification Requests 12 and 243, the article in ACM Queue.

Regarding notability, the work on Java Data Objects (which itself is a wikipedia subject) is notable.

If you could offer some specific advice on rewriting the article to sound less like a resume I'd appreciate it. I looked at other biographical articles and tried to mimic them.

Thanks. Papajdo (talk) 20:37, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

One of the reasons there is/was a problem was that you didn't add those sources to the article. I've added a few, but we're moving in a direction of requiring all biographies of living persons to be backed by verifiable sources that are included in the article, and your help is welcomed. It also helps when the sources are third-party, e.g., magazines and books that describe the author from an independent, reliable perspective. I've added three myself, just to get things started. Drop me a line at my talk page if you have any questions! Cheers! --je deckertalk 18:07, 28 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
