Identity of the image

edit

Is it possible that the image is not a common genet? Here common genets have a very prominent white tip to the tail. In the image, the individual has a black tail tip. Dkeats (talk) 06:35, 20 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect source

edit

There is a citation of the article "Earliest genets in Europe" in Nature (doi: 10.1038/370512b0) covering the entire text "It was brought to the Mediterranean region from Maghreb as a semi-domestic animal about 1,000 to 1,500 years ago. It spread from the Iberian Peninsula to the Balearic Islands and southern France." However, the source only discusses the possible domestication of genets, and is not a valid source for the claim of the time period they were introduced in, or the pathway through which and the areas to which it spread, even if these are most likely true. 95.96.28.177 (talk) 11:32, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
