Origins edit

The first Brampton Hut was surely just that - a hut. It was a place were motorcyclists used to hang out in the 1950s, as was the 1930s style cafeteria at Wansford that became a 'little chef' in the 1970s.

I remember it being a largish green shed in a sea of gravel. -- Brunnian (talk) 20:18, 25 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

The stilts description has been in this article from almost the start, but is unsourced and seems odd to me. [1] mentions 'Creamer's Hut, well known in the coaching days but nothing about stilts. The roadside cafe description as above seems more likely. There's a 1939 film on youtube of a trip up the A1 from which can be seen an old (pre 20thC) building called Brampton Hut hotel?--FDent (talk) 18:07, 31 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Suitability of photo edit

The single photo of fields is attractive, but hardly illustrates the subject. Brampton Hut is a major road junction and a service area, none of which are in the photo. Is the photo in Brampton, Cambridgeshire parish and would hence be better in that article? --FDent (talk) 17:19, 1 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Tagged edit

Hello. I tagged it for currency: it has been updated a bit for the road rebuild but actually quite a lot of it is now wrong and it needs a good birthday. I also tagged it for the "how-to" bits about how to use the junction. It is a nice thought but I worry that it is a bit out of scope for an encyclopaedia. (Ermmm - and is that guidance still current anyway???) Best to all DBaK (talk) 14:07, 3 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
